LDN Hardcore

Post by silverrainfell » Mon Nov 16, 2009 1:01 pm

I have to say it was the london hardcore scene that got me into hip hop and later dubstep. Simply because of the "streetness" of the music.

listed the godfathers of the scene there are quite a few new bands popping up.

haha BUN DEM OUT, yo

I never got into the LBU bands to be honest. It's not the kinda hardcore that I enjoy but I gotta give it to some of the fucking nutters that go watch these bands. Intense mosh (even though mosh is gay as hell).

It's true man, Hardcore is most certainly 'Goth Music'. You ever hear Fields of the Nephilim man? Best Hardcore band ever yo.

Fuck you you ignorant prick. Well, that's me told.

They just sound like poorly played Slayer and At The Gates riffs to me.Not like what I thought was hardcore, Minor Threat, Black Flag then later 1988 sound stuff like Chain of Strength and Judge. Of all the hardcore I've heard, I'm personally into the turn of the century stuff like Right Brigade and Carry-On.

But none of that sounds like the weird metal stuff you posted above.

But hey, what do I know, I should just fuck up, I'm an ignorant prick.

It's the new breed of "Hardcore" that is essentially 3rd wave Metalcore (or Metallic Hardcore) and it bares little sibilance to what you or I would call Hardcore Punk. And I didn't really post any bands in here. I just acknowledged the existence of the LBU Hardcore scene.

But yeah, you trolled me well and I fell for it. Fair play, mate.

Im a big fan of the LBU stuff simply because of the diy ness of the scene thease bands dont need anyone else to distribute their music for them, complete creative freedom no compromise.

of course mate! i'm addicted to collecting screamo vinyl haha. ;) great album. maybe not as good as Laisser Vivre Les Souelettes but it's still fantastic. i like the new direction they're going in.

did you hear there's a new Shikari LP coming out soon? :D

Yeah man, well excited! I'm abit of a euro-emo/screamo vinyl horder too.. The new daitro direction is perfect for them, I love the new Raein release with a more "poppy" (used very loosely) sound, and i'm so glad daitro have gone down a similar route.

It'll take alot for a band to top this LP though.

I still think London, Florida, New york and australia have the best hardcore scenes.
