You will prob still see brand new ones in shops for a while if you want to buy a pair.

2nd hand ones are fine tho.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

I think it's just a rumor, there is no official word from Panasonic yet. It's not a big deal if they do stop production anyway, they last forever, got a huge fan base, tons of spare parts. There are decks that surpass 1200's in every way but durability.
I also heard a rumor there just discontinuing the mk5, so they will still make the mk2 and the mk5g.
Whateves.

RUMOR and LIES...here are the facts:
http://www.urb.com/2009/11/28/inthemix- ... cs-is-dead

Guy who started the rumor admits it was a misunderstanding.
the 1200MK5 and 1210MK5 WILL be discontinued leaving the 1210MK5G as the top of the range and most definitely NOT discontinued. It never was a limited edition, just a flagship special edition model. And the 1200 and 1210 MK2 will continue as normal.

cant believe people accually fort this was true.it would be a very bad move by them to do, they would be losing out on so much money to be made.

The idea does seems stupid, i just saw it in as a news bulliten on dontstayin which linked to Djmag so thought i warranted a thread, but not the first time a magazine has bs'd about something and now the page has mysteriously disappeared. Practical joke i guess  phew

From looking at skratchworx it seems there WAS an offical statement which has since been retracted not just rumours.

Some interesting speculation contained.
