Cartidge/needle help?
Recently got some second hand decks, working fine with my old needles/carts but when i put the stanton ones that came with it a very loud low noise comes out of the speakers as soon as i put the needle on the vinyl. I bought new needles and put them on today, bu it still happens! is it the carts? any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Re: Cartidge/needle help?
So if I understand corectly you have no problems with the old cart, but the new one makes the noise? Then yeah seems like the new cart has some sort of problem. If it is kind where you see wires going fro the headshell to the cart make sure they are in the right positions and make sure the connections are good, maybe get some new wiring. If you cant see wires and cant fix it your self can you still returm them?
Re: Cartidge/needle help?
Now both old and new are making the ridiculously loud noise..any ideas? thanks ^^
Re: Cartidge/needle help?
sounds like those needles are shot, if after cleaning they still sound shit - well then they are most likely shit : )

Re: Cartidge/needle help?
hmm... if they both make loud noise then it's definitely not the carts that are broken. Is your headshell messed up?
