Gotta admit, when I used to use Fruity Loops, this was a beast of a preset!CollisionCourse wrote:thats pretty good, you got your own different sound going on i like it.dj_yeoku wrote:Soundcloud
if i was you id lose the presets in future, kind of takes away from the track and makes it sound unprofessional. but thats completely IMO.

Come back to this after 3 weeks, and not to sure if it's really happening...
It's leaning more so towards a certain producer who's name begins with "B", so it's not really Dubstep... But worth finishing? I'm in 2 minds.

I've heard that drum-loop countless times (have the loop pack myself too). If you have the rest of the loops in that pack then don't just use a plain one without changing it. Chop them up and blend 4+ loops together to make your own ones up.futurist wrote:okay so i changed how this song starts, i had the drums come in first before.

Its good man, maybe lower the drums in the mix /slightly/. I'd say keep going with it.
Edit: the main, present ones I mean, not so much the ghostly parts.

The new version's sweet.. How about changing up the dynamics a little sooner? Its a good vibe, but I'm wanting to hear some progression.futurist wrote:okay so i changed how this song starts, i had the drums come in first before.

It a preference thing I guess. Generally I aspire to the 'Toasty' style density, variation and complexity, (not that I've ever got there). But there's a place for the more Shackleton-esque, strung out, languid tracks as well, obviously.
It's a lot better than my first! Try transposing your kick up or down whilst looking at the Spectrum for that and the sub - the kick isn't very clear. Transposing and eq might help better define it in the mix. Also don't assume its the LFO that makes dubstep, you'll find a lot of people got bored of grinding wobble a while ago. But yeah, great first attempt!UnitedFruits wrote:This is my first track ever so it got a lot of things that probably sound very shit.

Very first effort, messing around with some software. I have never produced anything before (it tells!) and it's a little repetitive but:

It's not bad, I like the ambience of it...depends where you want to go with it but I'd carry on just in case

Mm, that's what I was feeling... Good to get some new ears listening to it, y'know? so cheers. will work on it.polygonfiction wrote:JemGrover wrote:Come back to this after 3 weeks, and not to sure if it's really happening...

The drums on your track a sounding pretty damn good and that vocal sample works so well... I'm thinking an occasional louder snare for emphasis with the toms might go down a treat?
Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.
Got the general idea down... Just keep on playing with the LFO and you'll soon get an idea of how to change stuff up, along with beefing up the snare & kicks with EQ ( but that all comes down to experience and there's much better advice from other people elsewhere on here, haha )jaydot wrote:Very first effort, messing around with some software.
