i really really hope he isn't cos this program is ace. i'm a politics student and after watching this there is no way i would work for the government, it looks so depressing. i can't know how accurate it is but it certainly seems realistic enough

yeah i like the way he was quietly shipped off to Australia in the storyline... MP's never go to Australia!

The thick of it is so classy it's insane... the first series was perfection pretty much.. "have u ever had to clean up your own mother's piss?? well, have you??"

I read that new 8 episodes were commissioned, but I guess the problems for one of the main stars has delayed the new series.

The special was one of the best comedy hours i've seen in a long time..you didn't even miss Langham's charachter.

yeah i got the impression they were kind of setting it up for him not to be in the next series - either because the tories get into office with "jb" or because theres a reshuffle when the pm steps down.

shame really, he as a good actor - anyone ever watch people like us?

I'm a big fan of The Thick Of It, watched the special last night. Really enjoyed it, although I think the six half-hour episodes were better. A bit less 'sweary for jokes' maybe, I dunno.

Didn't realise there was an Iannucci interview before hand, gash. He should definately make more Thick Of It and less Time Trumpet.

argh - thick of it special - didn't even realise. the problem with not really watching tv is never knowing when there are actually half decent good things on.
