Logic echo delay

Post by boyd » Sun Dec 13, 2009 7:22 pm

Getting a very annoying problem with the echo plugin in logic, wonder if anyone can help.

This doesn't happen all the time, but the echos I've got on various channels in a tune start doing strange things - basically the audio file echos for a little bit, then cuts out, then comes back in a couple seconds later but out of time. Soloing the channels makes the same thing happen, though not evey time - sometimes soloing it the echo does its thing fine. Bouncing the tune to wav and listening you can hear the same thing happening.

Any ideas anyone? Completely baffed :?. Cheers.

Cheers. Yeah I figured I could use a different delay, just I'm working on a track at the moment with loads of echos already programmed how I want them! But may have to just do that..

it's a glitch in logic, and starts happening once you up the track count/cpu useage. add some silence behind the regions that are effected, either create a silent region using the pencil tool or copy/paste silence from a previous region. bouncing won't help. frustrating, but manageable.

Usually happens when the tape delay is used as an insert on a channel not had any problems with using it as an aux/send though

^^this.

it's weird, this bug has been in Logic since at least version 5, and it still hasn't been sorted out! A lot less prevalent in 8/9 though. But as mentioned, just put some silence behind the region in question...

ha bouncing this from long ago to say thanks for all the answers posted here, i've been having this problem as well and it's fucking annoying when you want to make a track with loads of delays and echo and every single one cuts out and comes back in at a random point

anyways tried using them in sends instead of on the track insert and all is working fine

it can crap out on sends as well-- sometimes bouncing is the only solution.
