nice speakers for living room dj'ing?

Post by evannoots » Sun Dec 20, 2009 6:58 am

Looking to upgrading my home sound system. Im playing through two 80's edition hand-me-down speakers and a sony amp/receiver. It works but is pretty shabby for playing dubstep.

Not looking for monitors, but something for dj'ing small house parties and just practicing at a reasonable volume with good bass response.
Two towers and a sub maybe.
I'll probably also run my ps3 through em too.
Any ideas, recos?

Why would you not want active monitors? spend a little more...believe me it'll be the best decision you ever made.

I've already got a nice set of monitors which I use for producing...

Want something not so specialised, more volume too..

These are in my flat in black. Amazing clarity. Super punch.

Don't be mislead by their pc speaker appearance though.

They're essentially for cafés, bars, restaurants
themed environments but sound great in my oblong shaped living room/kitchen

this is the sub

It's all very compact and doesn't take up lots of space but you don't lose in of the sound quality. perfect for house parties.

A well worth investment and well worth checking out

I would go with the Alesis M1's as well, I've got the passive version here and they're great
