Elliott Smith Appreciation

Post by bandshell » Mon Dec 21, 2009 6:31 pm

I don't think I've ever seen a mention of him on here. Easily my favourite singer/songwriter. I could put any of his songs in here really, every single one is amazing.

Yeah, I really rate him as well. First heard one of his tracks (Happiness) on the soundtrack to Blueprint Skateboards video Waiting For The World then heard more of his tunes on the soundtrack to Good Will Hunting. I find I can always go back to XO & Figure 8 and they both always sound fresh. Amazing singer/songwriter who died far too early.

Son Of Sam has got to be one of my favourites of his.

shit I have to be in very specific moods to listen to him. He really makes me incredibly sad. Lots of memories associated with his music. But a genius none the less....

i think either/or was his best album. who stabs themselevs with a sword nowadays? original gangster. i hear he suffered from extreme stage fright, that he would sometimes place shows and face the other way. Big UP Elliot!! :t:

Either/Or is an amazing record!! :U: So sad listening to so much of his music cos you can totally hear his tortured soul.....

Between the bars is a favourite of mine. a really clever and perfect song.
