The sub bass drop is massively overused these days. I don't know if I'm hyper sensitive to it as I have 5.1 surround but I'm hearing it in just about everything these days. Ive heard it in so many film trailers, The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises etc, I even head it on an advert for TVs crab fishing program The Deadliest Catch plus many more.
Its turned into the new Wilhelm scream. Do all production companies use the same sfx presets these days?
