Mixing Dubstep

Post by adair » Tue Jan 17, 2006 9:55 pm

Ive always mixed dnb untill now. Dnb has gone very stale for me at the moment so ive found my attention drifting towards dubstep. Im buying some records at the minute

Do you find you have to mix pretty quick because i tend to drag mine out. Obviously its all about finding your own style of mixing but any particular ways you mix it?

nah i think dubstep is more suited to nice prolonged seagueing meditative mixes. grime is all about the chippy chop tho

depends where that wandering snare is...

if you're mixing distance into eric h, you can do it S-L-O-W

but try sticking lion vip on the end of that and you're going to have to spend the first 24 bars chopping back and forth.

there's no magic formula...

'swot I reckon anyway
