After our launch night went off with a bang back in October, the Mothers Against Noise Collective are pleased to welcome you back to Corsica Studios for our second party; the first of many for 2010! You can expect our signature blend of Dubstep, Jungle and Breakcore, brought to you by residents, friends and a couple of special guests over the venue's stunning Funktion 1 system!
As with last time we'll be getting started early, with the headliner before midnight so that the sensible among you can get the last train home. But you'll be gagging to stay 'til closing when you read what we've got in store for you...
Thurs 28th Jan 2009
8pm - 2am
EARLY START - HEADLINER BEFORE MIDNIGHT
DUBSTEP/JUNGLE/BREAKCORE
Monster X - Peace Off
DjRum - Yardcore
Dj Shedcore - Shedcore
Macka - Uncoiled Loops/Mothers Against Noise
Tufrs - Mothers Against Noise
Ehti'Khet - Mothers Against Noise
Leading the charge will be French Electro-Sadist -- MONSTER X --, picking up from where Broken Note left off in October; the beats may be different, but the remorseless dancefloor-slaughter is present and correct. Whilst Monster's releases on Peace off, Bedroom Research and others tend towards slower tempos, his live sets can stray into Breakcore and Noise wig-outs with little provocation. Hold on to your eardrums boys and girls. | myspace.com/beatzemonster
As one quarter of the Yardcore crew, -- DJRUM --'s put on some of the best London parties in recent times and now co-hosts a fortnightly show on Sub FM, pushing a mixture of bass and breaks which chimes very well with us indeed. His sets can encompass anything from Hip-Hop through to Jungle, taking in Bass music of all creeds and colours along the way. We're mighty excited to see what he's got in store for us. | yardcore.net
And, since our friends in the Shedcore collective delivered a blinding 90-minute takeover at the launch night, we've been keen to give them more air to play with. Starting from January, we'll be inviting them back to push their individual sounds, from 8-bit Dubstep through to improvised Breakcore. First up is -- DJ SHEDCORE --, the driving force behind the collective and a shameless devotee of all things Dread. He'll be showing us what he's made of with a live mash-up of Dub, Jungle, Ragga and Dancehall; guaranteed to get you skanking. | shedcore.com
Bringing up the rear and covering the flanks will be three MAN residents: first up we have -- MACKA --, whose off-kilter bangers tread the fine line between Joker's 'Purple Wow' sound and out-and-out bassline anarchy, with field-recordings and helium vocals thrown in for good measure. With a track due to be put out through Uncoiled Loops and some big releases brewing, 2010 could just be his year. Backing him up will be our boy -- TUFRS --, whose vinyl purchases in recent months have been almost exclusively comprised of pre-'97 releases; expect some of the choicest cuts in Old School Jungle and Proto-Drum'n'Bass in all their gritty, alien glory. And last but by no means least, -- EHTI'KHET -- will be getting things rolling with an eclectic mix of bass brutalism and dark atmospherics.
See you at the stacks!
