Kode9 has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Warwick and has published a book, Sonic Warfare: Sound, Affect, and the Ecology of Fear.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kode9
I have seen his book before and am thinking about buying it as I imagine it will be a good read however a Ph.D in philosophy is an achievement in academia alone not to mention for a music producer (Don't hate me

). Does anyone know anything more on this (Wikipedia can be very loose on evidence at times) because if it is true my respect for Kode 9 will be even greater than it already is.

I think I might buy it. 24.65 on Amazon.co.uk which, for a Ph.D thesis (I'm guessing this is it?), is good money seeing as they can easily exceed 100, and the sheer fact that it is Kode 9 would make me want to read it ahead of any other author (unless of course Burial wrote a book but then i would not sleep until it was complete

).

Makes me wonder...just how old is Kode 9? PHD's take a minute to complete.
Book sounds really interesting.

He teaches at the University of East London - MA Sonic Culture
http://www.uel.ac.uk/programmes/hss/pos ... ulture.htm -
A unique understanding of the proliferation and mutation of sonic culture in light of recent understanding of cultural viruses.
Deep, i think that is the same sort of stuff that his book Sonic Warfare is about
His PhD is in philosophy, from Warick uni
