prc viewer > end process > run antivirus > manually delete any leftover files you can find after antivirus has had a crack
Works for most things, but I haven't had a virus in years, it's probably a bit tougher than that these days.
Reformat if needs be.

that doesnt really work tho as you could end up backing up infected files and then just gettin the virus as soon as you use the files again

I got one called RECYCLER that does absolutely nothing (that I notice)....I think it's supposed to snatch info if you go online and do various shit. Fortunately I don 't have the internet at my apartment.

I also got one called Doubeclick. perhaps it's not called that but it'll make a single click act like a double click....VERY ANNOYING.

the rootkit which came with the trojan, has a special something or rather were it stores itself at the end of my hard drive so remains undected until i ran log scans

I had the exact same problem recently so feel compelled to assist. After a bit of research found this thing called Combofix, get it through the following site:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofi ... e-combofix

It's an exe which pretty much does everything for you. The instructions say that us simple folk shouldn't use without a 'helper' (i assume that means techie) but I went for it anyway despite its imposing dos prompt format and occasional screechy sounds and it did the biz without a hitch. Hope it works for you.

I do this for a living so listen up....

Download Spybot (or the Malware link above) both are free and epic.

Spybot I would recommend though because it allows you to run it in safemode, which is what you want.

1) Download Spybot
2) Install and update it
3) Shut down PC and boot into Safe mode
4) Run Spybot
5) Restart into Normal Mode
6) Run Spybot again

This should remove your problems.

i would try this but the rootkit has blocked me from using certain anti viral programs.

Think ill try combofix, although it does say do not use until advised to by a pro.

I second this. Used this everytime I got that Antivirus pro virus on my comp.

You may need to download a program to shut down any programs infected by the virus before you run malwarebytes, google can help with that

could you explain more about this before i go ahead and use it please.

ive read that you shouldnt use it unless advised to but this is desperate measures.

Edit: This is a rootkit folks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rootkit
