In case my announcement gets lost in the flood of reviews i posted after i made it...

i made a quick little demo today named "InEv" that's up on the BaronRogue player (http://www.myspace.com/BaronRogue)

super rough, havent added the sub bass yet and myspace usually cuts out the ending bc i loaded the 320, but it's the vast majority of what i want it to sound like, you'll get the idea

let me know what you guys think, got a real sinister old school vibe to it..

much love, see you guys in the morning (afternoon, your time, most likely.. you'll be awake long before i get up)... post or link whatever new tracks you want to, i have a busy day tomorrow but ill do a few when i wake up if they're here and i got some feedback on my track

@steveydubs - mix and everything sounds pretty good to me

@knell - InEv sounds awesome, it feels like my brains being turned inside out! will be nice to hear when it's done!

I just finished a song tonight, took me the shortest time and definitely me best tune so far, although that's not saying much. wouldn't mind some constructive feedback on my mixing and levels.

Baron Rogue - InEv

Plus

- Crackin bass drum, really carries the song nicely!
- Phasey psycho "twisty echo" noise really works as an almost alternative to hi hats - I like that
- Synth is great, builds nicely at parts and creates tension without over powering
- The "vowel" parts I love, wish I knew how to do these myself. (the E-Ai-E-Ai)

I can imagine a pretty fuckin great tune when this is done! I'm gonna create a myself for my stuff today and I will throw you an add soon :-]

Advice

- The only advice I can give you really is that certain parts could be lowered and some maybe brought forward slightly. I guess thats more personal preference though.

Stay well man!

:)

EDIT: http://www.myspace.com/badhairdubstep - this is my myspace address, give me an add people :-]

DedMan - "Pick Up"

props:
+intro is like swimming through a foggy swamp, yummy
+those bass drum hits really stand out
+drop is perfectly timed... now i have an example from a forum member to demonstrate what mean by "pronounced drop"
+rises are great (1:22)
+the "pick it up!" sample and the bass that follows (1:24) is... well... :o gold. now thats some solid flow and clever automation
+just. wonderful. should be on pandora.com for the Rusko channel, methinks... the tracks they have on there get stale for me after the 387492342 time i hear them, anyway :P

advice:
-the part of the main riff after 1:24, where the automation goes nuts, is pretty long... almost repeats itself, but i dont think that would matter on an EP or especially in the club.. a false break somewhere in there would solve that
-i was expecting some surprises besides automation tricks in the second drop, but im a picky greedy bastard so if that's too much then dont worry about it
-i personally am not a huge fan of subtractive synths, but you made this one quite listenable and not too dry, just make sure the sub bass has some resonance and 'oomf' to support it so it doesnt leave the listening brain 'high and dry', so to speak
-a deep and different (polysonic preferably) synth coming in at the end of each melody measure would give this track an A+ (in my lunatic grading scale of a brain)

overall:
=ded, you make it very tough to give advice, as your tracks are very well produced, so biggup for that. i really just hope this is helpful, since i really spent most of my listening time with this song bobbing my head and throwing my shoulders into the sides of my chair

i know, i know... you all think knell is starting to lose his mind...

Easy Knell, cheers again for the feedback bro!

Yeah im still working on the variation in this one, and i've replaced my little sound clips with ones from cheesey slasher movies haha!

haha so now i know what it feels like to log on and see a nice review of a personal track on there...! took my breath away, was a great feeling... i hope that my reviews do the same for you guys..

anyway, thank you so much for the review and the add on myspace, ill move you to my tops when i log back on...

**EDIT: oh, and that 'ee-ya-ee-ya' sound is created by running a square/saw/equally punchy wave through a Formant filter... gives it a great vowel sound... i also do some routing and wiring to oscillate the x/y channels in the Formant as well as the filter freq... hope this helps**

make sure you read the comments i left on your page, pretty crucial stuff..

much love/respect :w:

oh no!!!! dont say thaaaaaat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeh, i've been thinking long and hard about it, and i need you guys' opinions....
:!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

should i start a "Knell Feedback" thread????? could i even do that??? it would turn this back into the traditional finished feedback, keep it tidy and would keep me from looking like a review hog, and make it so i could review WIP and finished ( :o :o )... and also give people more chance to hear more than one review, because typically when i post my review everyone else just leaves that song alone, which isnt good in my conscience..
:!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

anyway, if its a no then its a no, just let me know because it's tearing me up... and if i do it then of course i would need all of your support so i dont look like some egotistical jackass

anyway... ill get back to reviewing for now.. let me know through PM or quote so i can tally the yeahs/nays

much love :w: :w:

HO.LY.SH.I.T.!!!!!!!!!!! :!:

i cannot tell you how long i've been looking for the name of that song "Floor Dem"...! it's been stuck in my head for YEARS, i knew it was by caspa and i heard it on pandora.com but i searched and searched and could not find it anywhere... i even talked about how i was shooting for caspa in my initial announcement that i made this song..

so you just made my freaking DAY!!! BIGGUPS!!!

the descending synth (in my track "BangTac", after the drop wub) and the laser synth in "InEv" were BOTH based on my memory of this "floor dem" song...!! so you can see just that one track has influenced me so much... and now i can hear it whenever i want!

i know, you guys are all

but it really meant a lot to me, so infinite thanks for making that comparison, tripwire! i owe you infinite reviews now!!

Just finished a new track called nuclear winter and put it on the soundcloud.

Think the bass has been distorted slightly by soundcloud and chopped out the deepest parts but I wanna see what you think.
should i start a "Knell Feedback" thread????? could i even do that???
I think this is a good idea and would also get you loads of feedback when you upload tunes so try it, but if you have your own thread who will comment in the 'finished tracks for feedback thread'?
