I get that you guys don't like it, and I totally understand why. But you can't really compare a tune like this to stuff like DMZ... that's like comparing the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack to Houses Of The Holy.

^not everyone is that shallow

I was at an event the other day and to be cool you needed to bruk out and do silly hype dancing to show how kerazy you are..

I chose to be uncool

on the main forum everyone is saying it's badman tune innit...it's got more posters so it is in fact cooler to like it

THIS!!! I like the old school start and the drop wasnt what I was expecting. I like the lead melody too although not the sound so much....Then again I only heard it this morning on a mix I downloaded last night so no doubt ill be bored of it once ive listened to it again on my journey home from work.

Word... I've only heard it because of this thread, but it seems alright... it's a dancefloor tune. I doubt I'd play it in the flat, but I expect I'd be one of the "posh kids brocking out" if it came on during the right set.

Damn this accent and sense of fun. I'll do my best to become grumpy and badly spoken. :(

Needs a remix that includes the intro but changes everything else.

people say the intro bit isn't a sample but it realy might as well be.....it sounds exactly like a old skool tune and then it changes into a borgore tune...is this innovation?

I like the intro, it would be cool if there was a whole tune using just the style of the intro..

that said I do like the tune especially if it's dropped in a club. It ain't really good for home listening though,

Why does it need to be? It's a dancefloor banger... it serves it's purpose. It's really not meant to be analysed this much.

There are a million better tunes than this, for sure, but I can see why dancefloors would love it. Hell, I've danced (and enjoyed myself) to a lot worse.

It's certainly not designed for the chinstroking crowd, which is why I wouldn't listen to it at home... but fuck chinstroking when I'm in a club, it's all about getting into the dance... that's the reason most people go out.

there are way better dancefloor tunes though...

people just buy into hype..why does dancefloor need to equal dumbing down and lowest common denominator?

& i hate this box 'chin stroking crowd'!

I like dancefloor tunes and music of all genres...there are dancefloor tunes in my latest mix lol

It doesn't necessarily, but most people, despite what they say, don't go out to clubs to listen to the DJ's selection... they go out to see their friends, get drunk (or maybe high) and dance until they fall into a cab.

I've enjoy a pretty wide selection of clubs and it's the social atmosphere that makes one special compared to another, not always the tunes that are getting played... sure, it's amazing to catch a true genius, but just as people used to be happy with a String Quartet playing "A Waltz" to lead their dance, I'm perfectly happy, if I'm surrounded by beautiful people having the time of their lives, to listen to Jump Up DnB or Mid-Range Cack for an hour.... I wouldn't put it on in the flat because if I'm listening there, then my full attention is on the music, not on the dancing/moshpit/hugging strangers.

Different beats for different situations...

Edit: Also, it's about what specific tunes mean to you personally. For instance, the first time I heard Eastern Jam, I was with some of my best mates at Corsica Studios and MAH dropped it with a rewind. The whole place just blew up... it was one of those moments in a club that you can't really explain, everyone just went fucking mental for it.... that tune will always remind me of that moment now, so I probably enjoy it more than I would if I'd listened to it for the first time on heaphones on my own. Same for Nero's remix of Blinded By The Lights... everytime I hear it, it gets a little bit more obvious, but I first heard it at Mass when Skream dropped it during his DMZ set and it will ALWAYS remind me of all the smiles that were around me at that moment.

I didnt know anything about the tune, the hype surrounding it or this thread before I heard it this morning but that didnt stop me from liking its different approach and interesting lead melody. Does that mean I have bad taste in your eyes piston?

hmm i guess i just don't get this way of thinking!

I don't compromise in that area at all....i think it's staying true to myself

It's a shame that most people go out for those reasons as it means bad music can get popular (whatever bad music is...it gives it an equal chance)

@ Faust.dtc - if you like it...cool...at least you aren't just copying everyone :D

Meh... there's craploads of good music out there. If you go to a decent clubnight, you'll only be confronted with this sort of thing for one or two sets of the night anyway... and you can probably go and see something else in the second room.

Bad music is practically non-existant outside of the listeners head... beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm sure this tune means an awful lot to some people... I just like seeing people have fun with music, it's what it's for. Elitism really is terribly dull.
