Wierd low background noise HELP!!

Post by Synephonix » Mon Jan 11, 2010 6:46 pm

Hey guys,

Now i have this problem with the tunes i put on youtube and soundcloud.
I know the quality sucks but it could be better then what i hear.
Here it goes:

I mix my tunes and check them on other systems. Then when i'm satisfied i
"master" them myself for youtube and playing purposes.

I know what i'm doing, i'm using pro plugins like waves and oxford.
I check everything with a freq analyzer too. Everything sounds perfectly balanced
and there are no hidden noise sounds. (i double double check)

BUT, as soon as i upload them to youtube and soundcloud, i get this weird background
noise fucking up the whole tune. It seems like a second sub but more noisy. You have to check on studiomonitors i guess to hear it well.

Here are two links:

Can someone pleaz tell me why this is?? Cos imo i'm doing everything the right way. I'm no noob to producing and with my hiphop songs i never
have this problem. BTW i always make sure everything below 20-30 is gone. So i eq-ed properly, again it always sounds perfect on speakers till
putting it on youtube.

Thanx guys!

I hear nothing strange, you posted the same link twice btw.

I know youtube compresses the track so you won't be hearing what it originally sounded like.

any way we can hear the original so that we can A/B?

Good idea! I posted another tune you can hear it better on this one:
(it's especially in the first minute after that sometimes.)

To hear the original in a good way you have to download it:

The youtube version:

I get this on Soundcloud too, just not with this tune.
I'm listning to other tunes and they all seem so clear. Absolutely no artifacts whatsoever.
On youtube too. Could it be moviemaker or adobe after effects maybe?

When you say 'background noise' do you mean it is constant, or follows the original sub?

I can def hear the lower quality of Youtube, the sound you're hearing could be a slight bitcrushing of the sub, due to the lower sample rate?
