To go on my previous post, I've been working on this a bit more and gone with a suggested stabby kind of bass, its very raw but let me know how it is.

sounds okay I personally dont like the static kinda noise but thats just personal preferance not a dig on the production.

I like the life support kinda blip and the bass is nice too will look out for the finished product :e:

Haha, that was an error in the mix, I had one of the filter channels turned off when I saved, by accident, if you re-listen to the one In the edited post, that should be better :D

That's sounding sick. Really liking the pad, and that bass is awesome, didn't even notice the lack of sub lol.Got nothing to say levels/production wise, (as it's fucking good,) but maybe the melody that comes in at 1.50 could do with a few more notes per bar - although it might take away from the minimalist vibe. Absolutely awesome for first Cubase project. what did you use before and why the change?

This is my latest effort: Some ambient shizz, definately not finished - the breaks need a bit some work and I think the melody needs a bit of a change up after the key change but there we are..

Any comments/crit would really be appreciated
Cheers

Im really liking this one, specially that piano, you could do with more fx and stuff going on, like random little percussion hits with delay on, and random oneshots and stuff, (i still have to add some to mine aswell), but its sounding well good, and nice and clean too

edit: oh and thanks for the comments,

@LTUK I like the piano, adds a nice touch and really goes well with the groove. I think you need to add bits and pieces for sure, like if I was given that track I'd go to the turntables and scratch some vocals or such over it, just layer in general, definitely sounds like its missing elements. Good start though!

We were using Reason 4 but have come to realise its limitations quite quickly, cheers for the feedback. Suprised how quickly its come together after gettin my head round cubase (still am really)

Feeling the piano as you said does get a tad repetative so a change up would work well. Percussion and drums are really nice and clean. Im feeling the 2nd drop too picks u up. Don't go overboard on adding more breaks maybe just a touch here n there should fill up the tune nicley. Nice start for sure, what you using out of intrest?

i prefer where the bleep was before, playing on the offbeat

Alright guys, haven't posted in here in ages. Currently lying on my bed laying down a drum pattern with i-pod headphones which only work in one ear. All my music stuff is in my uni accommodation, but can't go any longer without making something ha.

http://www.zshare.net/audio/711600530365f384/

Sorry about zshare, as it's only a REAL basic drop and pattern there's no point uploading it to soundcloud. Also as i mentioned my headphones, the levels are likely disgusting.

Main focus is on the hihat element, do you think it works? Very jumpy and not my usual way of doing things.

i´d let the hi-hats join a little earlier (4 bars earlier i think...?) cca at 2:06, it´d give it more rhytmic feeling imo
