Just finished this today, guitar sample recorded by yours truly

Would love some criticism/advice/opinions, and i'll happily have a listen to others stuff in exchange :e:
+ Very well produced - good effects and rises keeps it flowing along
+ Very well suited wobble to the track and you've got some pretty wicked automations going on it in the last half.
+ Nice guitar work. Good to hear a "real" instrument for a change.

- I Don't like that snare in the beginning and I think the snares in general are a little weak but that may be stylistic
- I would like to see more variation in the guitar every now and then
- I'm not over awed by the kick pattern general

Overall though its an awesome track, I really enjoyed it. If you spice up your kicks and snares and maybe change up the guitar riff a little every now and then it will be even better than it already is.
I would love a copy of this when its finished if

HUGE! Definitely see the DnB influence, I don't have much to say because it's spot on already. Sorry that's not overly helpful...

My gf said it makes her feel squished and hurts but says it like a bad thing, I dunno though so I need some input on it; I've only done the intro and up to the 2nd drop so let me know what you think cheers

Soundcloud
The build up is sick, I love the old "space invaders" B movies, and that just built me just right. After mentioning Trolley and hearing the build/intro, I figured you'd have a pretty mean drop, but when it did... It wasn't too mean. Cool bassline, but not mean. The effects in the song are tight, but I still think it's lacking. For me personally, it just built me up, and left me kinda hanging and stayed at pretty much the same level. So I'd have to say work on the movement of the song, however, that's just my opinion.

Also, looking for feedback on this WIP, lately been hitting some roadblocks with it.

Soundcloud
word good advice, I'm definitely working on trying to amp up that first drop along with creating a flow. Do you feel like its missing instruments, or just beefing up what I have (mean-ifying it) without cluttering it up is good?

Also I gave yours a few listens, I like your own "mean" bassline lol. I enjoy how the bassline and synths play with each other, and they definitely carry the song. The problem is that the synths and bass are on one level and the drums are definitely sub par; I'm not sure if loose hihats are the best choice and the kick and snare are completely overshadowed by bass nastiness. The rhythm itself isn't bad, I would definitely look into boosting your drums (and maybe changing the hihat) either by layering your snare or by adding some NYC compression. Also adding either samples/sound effects/more instruments could help out too. cheers!

Thanks alot dude really good to hear you like it, most people I've asked seem to find the snares either not to their liking or a little weak so i think i will look at that, and maybe record a new guitar riff to contrast with the original.
Will definitely let ya know when it's done

I really liked the composition, mastering. Everything was fitting well together.
Your wobble on the other hand, should variate more in rate, it doesn't always seem to fit into the rest of the song :)
Respect for the song though, I enjoyed it anyway

Aghh, happy as fuck with with Intro, but after putting a beat to it, it sounds 'orrible. I can't be the only person to ever have been in this position, right?
So; if finishing this track will turn it into garbage, what are people's thoughts? Is it worth bashing it out purely for experience's sake?

Cheers.. Yeah, I've got MASSIVE problems with finishing stuff, haha. Nice to get feedback as it gives me motivation.
I'm having trouble with drums though right now. Everything I make dosn't gel, so I give up. I'm at the stage where I'm just past a novice, and questing if it's actually worth bothering.. But seriously; I appreciate the kind words, man.

your welcome... if you save/bounce your drumloops and make a break this will gel your drums together... dunno if you knew that or not but there you go....

also if you then try compressing your bounced break this might help 2 gel also...

give it a try...

I NEED SOME HELP

Soundcloud

I've finally come back to this, and this is how its going so far... At the end of this soundcloud clip, the deep grumble bass cuts off, the freaky voice undertone carries on, and a wobble bass fades in with the LFO getting faster to go with the drop which is a typical Kick, drop. Every 4, then every 2, then every note.

Only thing is, just doesn't sound right when the deep grumble is cut off, I've got an idea in my head of what I want to do but I don't know how. I want to kind of "twist" the grumble bass off at the end - I dont know any other way of explaining it.

Any tips would be really appreciated as I've got Writers Block right now.

Let me know what you think, same old excuses, not mastered, mix is crap, not finished structure, you know the drill!
If anyone thinks theyd like a crack at mixing this I can send the stems and return the favor with one of there tunes, or atleast have a go anyway!
