Finding Vocal Samples

Post by DubSac » Sun Jan 17, 2010 6:33 pm

Is there any specific place all you guys get your badass vocal samples? i can never find good ones, they always have annoying like background noises going on at the same time. Help would be much appreciated, thanks guys.

work on some of the vocals you have a bit more, with careful filtering eq, some background noises can be almost eradicated. once you put the vox in a track you may not even notice any unwanted sounds at all

even if you can still hear unwanted bits before you use in a song, you can make it so they are barely taking up any space at all

it wont always work very well though, depends on the ammount of background noise and what it consists of

im trying so hard not to write a sarcastic comment to this

there is no magic setting for removing background sound from samples, firsty i havent a clue what you are working with anyway

secondly, alot of background noises are different, made up from percussive sounds, white noise, crackles etc etc and so require different treatments

you never know, depending on what some of these background sounds are, if you are creative enough, they may sometimes work in your favour

and if you just want to slap an acapella in a track, and some of these sounds are inbetween vocals you can edit them out, by muting or cutting

try highpassing for starters and cutting certain frequencies

Doesnt static and fuzz normally "live" arond the 6000hz mark?

Personally I like my samples dirtier than a grannys undercrackers so I wouldnt dream of eqing them out.
