Jeff in particular.
All I can say to this one is fucking hell

I'm finding this one a bit LOL with the lifting arm to reveal roaring mouth bit.tr0tsky wrote:![]()

when they first saw the original drawing for it lol. Its actually been doubled in size, the original was an A5-sized sheet (about 1/2 my arm). But they figured the details would run into each other so we blew it up. It took them as long to trace if out as it did to do the tattoo itself (about 2.5 hours each). They happened to have a guest artist in the shop that day so they asked her do it. She was really patient and good. If I ever get round to expanding on it, I have a better idea now how to go about it so I don't drive the next people mental.
A friend of mine has a sick Mumra (mummy version) tattoo done at the same place.
Yeah that wasn't too bad at all, I was literally expecting 5h. She was really quick. My mate's Mumra took 3 sessions to complete plus a follow-up to brush up on the colouring after it'd scabbed.Blue Patterns wrote:2.5 hrs doesn't sound too bad. I hear some 5+ hr stories and I'm just like![]()

Not sure about my friend's, but mine cost around 450 Malaysian Ringgit (iirc), which is about 90 quid, which is about 60 US dollars. Most places in the West price by time, these guys went with size and complexity of the tattoo.Blue Patterns wrote:how much it cost? both yours and your friend's Mumra?
Yeah, not a fan of sleeves either. I also don't generally like imagery (that spidey one earlier was an exception), much prefer abstractions. I had another one planned for my other arm but I need to think about whether I'm happy with that yet.baron_von_carlton wrote:I'm into random tattoos. Not a big fan of sleeves and large back pieces.
That's what i love about being inked. I always have something to occupy my mind. I'm constantly planning new designs and ideas.kay wrote:Yeah, not a fan of sleeves either. I have some ideas for fairly large tattoos on my back, but they will probably sit in my head for a couple years. I also wasn't sure about posting a pic of mine up as it's definitely unique, but thought, ah well, what the hellNo one's pointed at it and laughed in real life yet, so I figure it can't be that bad!

I really like your tattoo. Very unique and in a way very hard to copy, purely because of the detail. Mine however is a concept easily taken, foodie tattoos seem quite popular at the moment. I don't want every fat bastard food critic walking around with my designOnly close friends have seen it and i guess they are the only people who would understand why i got such a design.
My next one involves a teapot
What the hell are you on about, my Gower Street chum.kay wrote: Yeah, not a fan of sleeves either. I also don't generally like imagery

I just find them too gaudy and bright. Some sleeves are ok, especially the monotone black/grey ones. My tattooist had an amazing Giger-type sleeve on one arm. I also just find some of the usual skull motifs a bit cliche. And for me to have a bunch of Hindu gods tattooed on me seems a bit...rude as I'm not Hindu or even vaguely religious.tr0tsky wrote:What the hell are you on about, my Gower Street chum.kay wrote: Yeah, not a fan of sleeves either. THE best and most beautiful tattoos are oriental-style sleeves. Check these out from Jeff at Evil From the Needle.
