This thread is the gift that keeps on giving.
Also, don't lemme find out that Reggae is huge in Finland. It's already dark and cold where I'm at so if you guys have those blond girls+reggae, I'm moving.

Re: Explicitly Reggae influenced Dubstep?
when i first started mixing i was playing mainly dub influenced stuff and the occasional banger, i found that a lot of people arent feeling the dubby stuff. its what i choose to listen to at home and i always wanna put one or two in a set. but a whole set of it is not great for keeping people on their feet. shame really. but id rather play to a lot of people!
still it is sick stuff. got a much nicer energy to it. bit happier and smilier.

Re: Explicitly Reggae influenced Dubstep?
Yeah, I don't think I'd play too much of this style at the peak of the night but if I was opening, doing after-hours or handling a chill-room it'd be deadly. Once again depends on the crowd I guess, if the show is advertised as a Reggae night they'd probably be more amenable to it than a crowd expecting meat-n-potatoes dubstep.laurent__duval wrote:when i first started mixing i was playing mainly dub influenced stuff and the occasional banger, i found that a lot of people arent feeling the dubby stuff. its what i choose to listen to at home and i always wanna put one or two in a set. but a whole set of it is not great for keeping people on their feet. shame really. but id rather play to a lot of people!
