Re: can a SIX YEAR OLD make dubstep??
no. if this isn't a joke then props to the kid... but I am beyond skeptical. have a 5 year old, and kids this age don't have the attention span OR technical knowledge...

Re: can a SIX YEAR OLD make dubstep??
see, thats what made me think it might be legit... sounds like a six year old on Ableton to me...christthetiger wrote:track sux anyway
Re: can a SIX YEAR OLD make dubstep??
Sure a 6 year old can. I don't think that's a 6 year old though.
It's a pretty new account, so maybe kind of making fun of that 12 year old kid who's been getting his dnb on radio 1. "Nurserystep" doesn't sound too serious haha.

Re: can a SIX YEAR OLD make dubstep??
Most definitely fake. There's a drum n bass page by a 9 year old going around who looks very similar

The fishy part is all of a sudden these young kids are popping up. What is next? Kid in the womb records vocal track? My kid is 5 and there is no shot in hell he is doing any of that next year.

Re: can a SIX YEAR OLD make dubstep??
I don't necessarily think that this particular track was made by a 6 year old...
...but I certainly think it is possible for a 6 year old to be capable of this and much more. I was programming in BASIC & reading the dictionary for fun, etc when I was 6.. had someone let me loose with software with a nice GUI, who knows what I would have been capable of.
I mean, disregard all the classical prodigies that put that track to shame... I just have seen first hand what kids are capable of. I let my (at the time 5-year old) step-son play around in Ableton with triggers I set up, etc.. and he became a badman of subbass lines within minutes. He wasn't just mashing keys, he was doing specific (and repeated rhythms) on tuned subbass bombs, creating very discernable patterns. He knew what he was doing and he did some dope shit. So dope, in fact, that he and I did a track together. I let him 'sound design' & compose the main bassline, put in some of his subbass patterns and let him drop vocals, while I programmed the beats and chopped up samples around his ideas.
You can hear it on my Myspace... it is called 'Bass Crunchers'
http://www.myspace.com/madep
it should be out on 12" on !Kaboogie later this year....

Re: can a SIX YEAR OLD make dubstep??
really? i was climbing trees and having difficulty figuring out the universe when i was six..
i believe a six year old could make something in any DAW... in the same way a six year can put a pencil to a page and make a drawing... it's just a question of if you think you can learn something about life from a six year old.

Re: can a SIX YEAR OLD make dubstep??
first of all, the tunes being shit is evidence towards it being legit, not AGAINST, if you believe otherwise then you need some logic work
second, just because we werent messing with DAWs at six doesnt mean this kid's not going through a phase or his parents arent whoring him out or anything..
plus the new track features a sample of this kid, right before the breathtakingly awful drop... so theres definitely a six year old involved at some stage (although the teletubbies theme is a little extreme... so... gah i dunno)
obviously this kid is getting some help, but how much? the shitty tracks means not too much, in my book haha, but he's making better music than i was at six years old... he's got plenty of room to grow... literally.
and as far as it being a Magik parody... i dunno. its so serious and seriously awful that it does boderline fallacy..
