Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.
This is a small project but I am working on re-creating Daft Punk's "High Life" and then doing a remix.
I chopped up the sample myself using the original song the samples came from that Daft Punk used.
Sample Started like this:
Soundcloud
Then I added some tempo change and phaser:
Soundcloud
Still didnt sound right so I changed the tempo once again, layer the sample twice and made one layer more bassy and i came out with this:

Here is Daft Punk's Song to compare:

Its a good start, you got alot of work thodeadnoisesystem wrote:latest work in progress, what do you think?
Soundcloud
-lead melody , you know , a catchy tune

-song's too empty, looks like you only have drums and a bassline, where you should be having alot more effects and background atmosphere
-drums are way to monotone, try to add some variation and also add some percussion, kick snare and high hats aint the limit

-variation off bass, i like the melody but its just way to plain to let it play for 2 whole minutes
-solid subbass, it might be my headphone, but im not hearing any real subtones in your track
good luck with it, looks like a nice start

been mastering this one out, after that im gonna arrange a full length:

I like the idea behind this, and can always appreciate a dubstep remix of some funky house. With tracks like this less is more usually wobblewise. Hit me up when you've got more, I definitely want to hear this!futurist wrote:This is a small project but I am working on re-creating Daft Punk's "High Life" and then doing a remix.

I'm digging the direction the song is going and especially feeling the synths. You may want to add a bit of variation to the drum loop, maybe even a couple more drum hits. Even something thats subtle and barely noticeable can make all the difference.cynical wrote:An updated version of the name less song I'm currently working on. Hope you enjoy

This is sounding really good dude. Few kinks need to be ironed out like the drop, which doesn't feel quite right to me. The bass drums are sounding specially good and the amount of variation is just right.deadnoisesystem wrote:latest work in progress, what do you think?

your tune, the beats are great, synths are tight and the bass is good
just a bit of variation to keep it busy and youll be laughing
