Hardcore is dead. Hardcore died along time ago. There's only a couple of good bands left. Integrity, The Hope Conspiracy, Converge. That's about it. Cursed? But they split up.

^ couldnt agree more. hardcore is anything but dead. im usually in a hxc band too, but i quit my last one.
Re: Anyone into hardcore?
I used to be into my local hardcore scene but it was less the kind of hardcore you guys are talking about and more skate punk/hardcore punk bands like suicidal tendencies, DRI, etc. shit was awesome though. They used to just get a generator and play shows weekly outside at the local park and there would be like 5-6 bands playing every week for free in a boring ass town.
Fuck that shit was good.

Why say there are plenty of amazing bands these days (which there aren't btw) then use a band who have split up as an example. It died a long time ago. Aaaaand, please dont describe hardcore as breakdowns and screaming and stuff and that. It stands for so much more.

idk if you are referring to like 80's hardcore like Jerry's Kids or Gang Green? so who did hardcore stop with? when did it die?

Re: Anyone into hardcore?
i used to play in a hardcore band here in the bay area. it was alot of fun, we ended up getting to play with first blood and death threat among others and did a 2 week tour up and down california. after that i was in a three piece thrash band along the lines of das oath, ampere, ds-13 etc. I still listen to some punk and hardcore but the bands that really stuck out for me that I will always love are bane, modern life is war, verse, and go it alone. as far as crust/punk goes check out Tragedy (get Vengeance), one of my all time favorite bands. every time they hit gilman its absolutely packed with smelly crust kids

Annihilation Time
Born/Dead
lot of Oakland bands
= good friends of mine, played music with them, etc...
started a band called S.T.D. (steel toe disaster) but wasn't really hardcore, mostly raw rock and roll. we were skinheads.
and most of you are all talking about the weird neo-hardcore and all that aren't you?
we keep it in the tradition of the 80s skate ethic where I'm coming from. I wouldn't have it any other way.
