TECHNICS REPAIRS

Post by misery-cuts » Tue Jan 16, 2007 5:51 pm

Ez all!
Anyone know of a reputable place to get Technics turntables repaired?
Got a pair of 1200 MK5 and they both stopped working at the same time?
Must be an internal fuse or something?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Nice 1 in advance!

Seems a bit odd if they both stopped at the same time, you may have a dodgy extension lead or something, so that might well be worth checkin out.

If you give us a location, might be able to help, know of places down here, but wouldn't have a clue elsewhere. I do know that you could end up paying more if you have a go yourself and fuck it up, and I've had a few people try to charge me £40 for taking it apart before they do shit, so watch out for that.
Hmm....

man I hope it's not in the tone arm... I had wiring issues in one of mine and was told replacement was about $250 US (when a whole new deck runs about $400)

Tried it all! Pluging them in all over the house. Changing plug fuses. Nothing?

Sounds a bit add that they both went at the same time. It could be that you had a power serge in your house and this has some how damaged them. Don't know how you would sort this out though..

Good luck

All sorted!
I'm well happy. Did D.I.Y. style as well.
It was the internal fuses which had blown.
Nice 1 to Frank @ The Cravery for the heads up!

Power gone on both technics 1210mk2

Post by spaghettihoop5 » Wed Jun 20, 2007 12:03 am

Hi,

I just got the same problem with my 1210mk2! How did you fix them? I'm really gutted about it. I dont want to take it to repair shop cos its going to cost about £200 i bet...

Where is the internal fuse? and where can i buy one to replace it?

Hope you see this and answer me... I notice this thread is pretty old now.

Thanks
