any pre-conceptions of this game can fuck off. it's like they've taken idea's from every great sci-fi flick and mashed them all into pure epicness but still maintaining great originality, also anyone else agree that omega looks like the scenery from blade runner?

I played Mass Effect 1 at a friend's place. I got stuck on the ship in the beginning and I never played it again. The porn star mustache was cool though.

Just started playing this yesterday. It's insane how different it is to the first one. The only thing that's similar to the first one is the conversation system, which has had improvements too. Combat, levelling, exploration, upgrades, side quests all completely different. The level design is incredible too, that club in Omega was pretty special, some badman music in it too.

The downstairs drum and bass room is sick.

I lost ALL of sunday to this game. ALL of it. I only stopped to eat and poo.

I was arfraid it was going to be too "halo esq." but its really not. Super fun to play.

Agreed, game is absolutely sick. Every battle reminds me of a star wars movie, lasers flying everywhere, force powers being thrown left and right. Very tactical as well, its like a mashup of Gears of war, rainbow six, and the first mass. Im just mad i didnt pick a more interesting class at the start (i picked a soldier :( ). I'm also mad I cant drop my whole life and play this game. I miss summer vacations.

The whole tone of the game is great too, they went all Dark Knight with this sequel; waaayy darker, more intense, and the camera work, facial expressions are top notch. The moody space operas are always the best.

It must take alot of skill to be able to give an alien enough character to make the player feel anything for them, especially considering they dont share the same facial expressions. Garuss is losing his soul, and that salarian doctor is unnerving as fck. Only in this game and District nine have I ever seen aliens that are so unique and real at the same time. Though the fact that all aliens in mass 2 can speak english is kind of a cop out...

Agreed the characters are really well done. I whats quite surprising is that I actually feel like a tnuc when I make a bad decision and the characters diss you for it.
