Turntablism

Post by domhunt » Sun Jan 31, 2010 1:54 am

Anyone here a turntablist?
I really wanna start it out but i don't really know where to start.

Plus if you do it does it go well with dubstep?

^I'm analysing it.
It would help to know what you know but I probably won't get that opportunity.

the end of that was pretty sick.

i suppose turntabilism can go with most genres because it just involves taking breaks and creating your own beat. with more minimal beat pattern tracks i suppose its just easier, hence why dubstep could probably work.

Only ever done it with a couple of grime tracks I have doubles of...
Dark angel, fall from the heavens above, send me an angel to heal my heart from being in love... After all of the love for you, in my life, but it wasn’t good enough for you, I can’t take no more tears from my eyes.... But it wasn’t good enough for you, I can't take no more hurt from that time....

DJ Craze. The last of the "pure" turntablists.

The new school is all about Seratoism. Which is another art form in its own right.

kinda have to agree there. he's the only (great great great) scratch dj i see playin around in all sorts of good music, showcasing his skills when he wants, and mixing up a storm. really nice/down to earth guy too the one time i met him.

The crazy stuff is good to watch but I prefer people like DJ Yoda, Cut Chemist, Mix master Mike, amazing turntablists and they can still make you dance.
