Best live tools. Please help!

Post by permutated » Thu Jan 18, 2007 4:47 am

Sup guys.

I posted some sets on the audio forum. I'm taking my act to a live situation, including production and editing, as well as dj'ing.

I need some help, what are some of the best low cpu VSTS? Free is preffered, but if it's wonderful enough to buy I'll buy it.

So far I've been told Skipper does wonders, what else do you guys sugguest for fx and mixing/dj'in?

I'd DJ with Traktor and Re-Arrange original tracks and loops with Ableton LIVE!

Effects.

Here is always a good start:

As for VST host, my vote is on energyXT. It's good for that sort of thing, and hella cheaper than ableton.

When it comes to VSTi:s, I suppose the usual suspects float to the top:
  • Synth1
  • NWBass
  • Orca
  • shortcircuit free
And any free FX that're stable enough for live play...
  • Cowdelay
  • MDSP Analog Delay
  • dblue Glitch
  • Kjaerhus Classic series
  • and so on...
That should do quite nicely.
