Introducing Fathom Audio - Now signing.
Hello there!
Some of you may have heard the name from the recent interview with Legend4ry, Fathom Audio is going to be launching in the spring.
The Aim
Fathom is a net label what is pushing the lesser heard side of sub driven electronic music. We will be putting out artists who are making future garage, dub techno, filmscore-esque dubstep and deeper and techy sounds around the 120-145bpm range.
As you can tell from the name, we will not be pushing music with filthy, industrial basslines. We hope to fill the gap where the producers who are making creative, inspiring and ecentric music, for those sitting at home with headphones on, sitting on the night bus coming home from a club or those going for a long walk!
We hope to make a discography what can be listened to from start to finish which creates a soundtrack to those more chilled/ecentric moments.
How Fathom Works
Fathom will be a Pay-What-You-Like label, meaning you can pay as much as you feel for the material, be it nothing (everyones favourite price) or £1,000, you're not abliged to give us your hard earned money unless you want to support what we do and if you want to donate to the project you can be as generous as you like!
Being the way the label works, artists will get paid a even cut between Fathom, them and any other artists on the release.
To make that a bit clearer...If there is 2 other people on your release and there is £100 donated based on your release. Fathom takes £25, you take £25, the other 2 artists take £25 each.
Become a part of the project
So if you like the sound of the project and want to get envolved there is 2 ways to send a demo.
Email : FathomAudio[at]gmail[dot]com
AIM: FathomAudio {NOTE} - for the time being, please send demos via the email above, I will not accept mediafire links as mediafire doesn't work for me, feel free to add the AIM to talk though.
Please do not send more than 3 tracks per demo (unless its an album or a EP), please .rar them up with your AIM or Email within the filename.. I.E - "MR.X - Fathom Demo - AIM:MrX" or enclose a .txt file with your contact info, please do NOT post in the thread with your soundcloud and say "pick any tune you like" I want demos not to pick and choose, a majority of the releases will be EPs and Compilations - so think of tracks what work together and flow.
Please do not waste my time and yours and send me a demo of unfinished tunes, wobble/filth.
Thank you for reading and I hope to hear from you soon!
- Chris / Legend4ry.

Re: Introducing Fathom Audio - Now signing.
i'm obviously not the dude you want. i love how people who don't like filthy wobblers always imply it's less "creative"
Re: Introducing Fathom Audio - Now signing.
Nah its not less creative at all, sorry if I came across that way! I just wanna stear clear of that region, not because I hate it - cause I don't - I am just not interested in signing and putting out that stuff, to many other people do it and do it better than I could, I am just not part of that side of dubstep.narcissus wrote:i'm obviously not the dude you want. i love how people who don't like filthy wobblers always imply it's less "creative"

no no, not you in particular, just people in general.. i get ya dude. you're not part of that side of dubstep.. just like i'm not part of your side of dubstep. but those things don't really matter, what's important is that we have fun and create what is beautiful to each one of us. then we can share that beauty w/ others. i mean, i LOOVE deep dark ambient-er dubstep when other people make it, it's just not what i make.legend4ry wrote:Nah its not less creative at all, sorry if I came across that way! Maybe we should become power rangers and merge our powers.

any label worth its weight pushes good tunes and doesn't discount one style as a whole.DZA wrote:FinallyFathomAudio wrote:we will not be pushing music with filthy, industrial basslines.

I'm deffo not one of those people! I hate them too haha. I just feel like pushing the other side! I feel someone needs to step up as Echo Dub is slowly closing its doors, innit! Nothing better than free music, either
My other label is a bit like savory (just A LOT smaller hehe) it dips into all the pies so why have two of the same? I am REALLY interested in the pay-what-you-like concept after Radiohead did it for "in rainbows" so been thinking of this label ever since! This is how the idea evolved!
