MP3 tracks download

1. I'm already buying MP3 tracks
2. Maybe in the future I'll buy digital music
3. I'll never buy tunes in a file format

most people in the states have no choice in the matter.

if we want to listen to dubstep outside of rinse sets and mixes, we have to download.especially people like me, who is a casual listner---who is not trying to mix.

or i just end up paying something like 11-15 dollars for a 12", and that is if i can even find it in a local shop.i have bought from boomkat and blackmarket, but can barely get over the shipping costs.

i generally buy vinyl when i can, but just end up ripping it to mp3 to throw onto a cd or into my ipod.

so yes i do download.

I only buy vinyl. Mainly because I cant afford CD decks/MP3 mixing software.
Also because I love it.

buyin digital format shud not happen in my opinion unless you are not a DJ its about reppin vinyl
i spend silly amounts of money on old vinyl the most i spent on 1 12 inch record is Â£34

i thought about final scratch but thats no really vinyl

any dj should buy vinyl an cut dubs in my opinion coz if they dont vinyl is gonna die out

it's only a bad thing for vinyl DJ's...

...in terms of access to quality music at a decent price in a format suitable for the general public or for DJ's wishing to play out the most up front tunes, vinyl doesn't cut it anymore

sad to say, but vinyl needs to die and so does cutting dubs...

1)yes, I've bought a few mp3 trax but I'm downloading free mixes, which is my preferred way of listening to new tunes
2) yes, i will definitely buy digitally more often but probabaly only mixes
3) no, i will never buy vinyl again

^^^us polynesians love our KFC...

if digital music is like KFC, available globally and consistently by the piece or as many pieces as you like, original recipe or hot and spicy...

... then vinyl is like a fine restaurant in the english countryside that does takeouts but you have to wait months to get a booking just to get served and by the time your meal arrives halfway across the world it's cold, there's not enough of it and it cost shitloads

more for you, then sweet...

i think the digital thing should keep going and grow, for people who dont have turntables or something... but saying vinyl needs to die is a bit outrageous and absurd. vinyl should definitely not be phased out by digital media, that would suck. alot.

...it's like saying burning fossil fuels in vehicles as a practise needs to die out too so we can make a faster progression to hydrogen electric

i don't really buy Blackdowns argument about vinyl as a quality control mechanism...

...the artists are their own quality control and the public is the deciding factor by natural selsetion as to which tunes become big

it shouldn't be labels and bigboy producers dropping dubs and releasing 12's that determines what becomes the next big tune...

...i don't need anyone to act as arbiter of my musical tastes

BTW yes i am pretty outrageous and quite absurd but that doesn't mean i don't know what the fuck I'm on about...

why cant there be both? theres no need for vinyl to die, its currently coexisting with digital media and some people prefer vinyl, so... you keep both...

I really don't understand how vinyl can controll anything....from quality to stopping file sharing. I know many people who rip there vinyl to share on slsk or bittorrent. Its just the way it is. so....on that note, its out there anyway. I could get on slsk and get every tune that is out....and even on dub from slsk alone.

What the label need to do is offer there music for download and as a .wav file this lets cd people do there thing, mp3 mixers do theres and if your a vinyl only guy you can still buy the record or get a dubplate cut if they can't get it in the states. I say .wav file because i would want a lossless real copy of the tune to start out with.

Just because anyone can make music doesn't mean that everyone is going to start a digital label and set up a pay and download site. It just make more sense.

1.i don't currently buy mp3's as they're only useful for listening.
i buy the records and keep up mostly. i like to dj records and i don't think of playing cd's as djing.
2.in the future, if tracks are made available in a .wav or high bit rate mp3 or such. i will buy them and likely cut some to dubs.
if the latest tracks were made available to me on mp3 in a very timely fashion, i would buy those and buy the record when it is released.
3. i will always prefer records over other things.
i reckon the labels should consider bundling mp3 traks with the 12" for a reasonable price.

the point i was making is that as long as more manufacturers are constantly producing more fossil fuel based cars it will hinder the production of newer hydrogen electric vehicles which are better suited to a wider range of consumers...

Slightly off the topic but..

Hydrogen is not a form of energy. It only has the capacity to store energy, therefore when you balance out the overall equation and take into account initial electrical potential needed as input, we aren't saving anything.

The quicker we make newer hydrogen electric vehicles, the closer we get to peak oil.

and where did you get your equation that states hydrogen electric car production exacerbates peak oil demand given that if peak oil is true we are in it now and iceland and sweden are looking to to become wholly dependent on alternative energy sources to fossil fuels by as early as 2020 ???

the equation for hydrogen electric value comes from twice the distance per litre of comparable fuel
