NAMM show stuff

Post by misk » Thu Jan 18, 2007 11:26 pm

i've been looking around the internet today for announcements from NAMM. i checked the korg website, seems they got a few new products like the ZERO8, an all-in-one ableton controller, and more. Im gonna check the roland site now... anyone hear of anything particularly cool from the NAMM show?

oh, also, the mini kaos pad looks pretty groovy too.

Some goodies: And much more I'm sure. That's what's caught my eye so far.
I'm sure roland is showing some more rehashed rompler soundsets, and behringer knockoffs of whatever was shown one or two years ago. :)

Now, the SSL Drumstrip looks interesting. Looks like all the usual things in one plug. I wonder how many DSP slots it takes up?

New Mackie controllers. Well, fuck. I wonder if they'll discontinue the originals now?

Arturia's move is interesting, to say the least. I can remember that they sent out a questionaire email to customers a year or two back that hinted about such a desktop box. Strange.

Bugger.

Ok, snipped from Mac Music:

Waldorf will announce a new synth line at NAMM. The models are :

- Stromberg : a big aluminium 5 octave wavetable digital synth with optional plug-in modules adding analog filters and/or tube amplification.

- Blofeld : a desktop/rackmount analogue modelling synth with a nice big LCD display and an aluminium box.

- Zarenbourg : a Wurli-inspired stage piano using physical modelling rather than samples (a bit like a hardware Lounge Lizard), with built in speakers - clearly going after Clavia's Electro range but with a much more retro look.

- Phoenix Edition : a limited edition reissue of the Q, Q+ and Micro Q, in black. The Q+ has analogue filters, the Q digital ones, and the Micro Q is the simplified rackmount version.
