Hey man, this is a nice tune but I don't think it would have done any harm to lose the plinky plonk synth on the first drop and just have the drum, bass and little fx motif sounds for a while... Other than that, nice track though!

Thanks for your honesty! I actually made a version a little while ago that did just that, and was also about 45 seconds shorter...I think I might just upload that one and give it away for free, since I don't really have enough confidence in the tune to give it to any labels.

Any thoughts on this? It sounds kinda amateur to me, but I can't tell if that's because I've just heard it too much, or it's my first tune in Cubase, or it was pretty much conceived as a tool for my live sets.

Thats siiiiick man!!

Wasn't expecting that! Thank you! Always good to hear something like that :D

Its a little bit short... I made it for the days you want to lie down with your head against the sub :mrgreen:

I like the intro, the piano rhodes sound is great, and I like the wobbley pad in the background. I like the drum sounds, and the general ambience. I think you could maybe flesh the bassline out a littleas goes... Oh yeah to do a bit. I also think you could change the piano a little, maybe even just drop it for a while and re-introduce, just to keep things changing a bit. Also with the drums I recommend not panning to widely, and to reduce the stereo of the snare - this will make the drums sound a little bit tighter. But overall a good job, especially considering you have been at it for 6 months. My 6-months beats were certainly not post worthy lol!

Your track was very interesting. I do like some wobble but I am not the biggest fan (just to let you know :) )

I thought the speed and the notes of the bass were good, and the simple hard drums suited the style. I thought that the actual sample of the wobble, while quite good, could have been a little "juicier" - I thought it sounded a little bit dry - but I guess that is what we're all trying to do: get nicer sounds. But also that could have been the exact sound you wanted! The best part of this track was the change to the b line which I pointed out in your soundcloud - it probably sounded extra good because it had the other wobble in front, it was a good progression of the sound. I think you could possibly put a little reverb on the snare (or a little more if you already have) - just to make that sound a bit fuller too. Overall though nice work, definitely getting those wobbles undercontrol :D

I really liked the drums and percussion on this track - with that little drum playing it's own melody, and I'm always a fan of shakers for a shifty feeling. ANd the night noise sample is fantastic - great choice of sample there. The sub was very solid too, although I was not so sure about the wobble over the top - it sounded to me like it was supposed to be it's own part (as in not following the sub bass) - is that what you were thinking? Anyway I thought that wobble sound could be developed a bit more - you could put a little bit of reverb on it, or distort it with overdrive or a bit crusher so get some more harmonics in there to make it sound a bit fuller maybe... Good job for your first full length tune, that is a serious milestone :)

Here is a track I made about 6 months ago. It's not my best work in the production department, but I did enjoy trying a long progression with an orchestral type thing going on :D

sup grooki. really likin this tune. dark sorta vibe. i get a bit bored of the pad that comes in at 0.27. maybe vary that up a bit, or more autmation on it? just personal taste. the rest is sweet.

I like this... the main 'wobble' could do with some eq'in tho. Maybe you could automate some delay on a few parts like the snare - but don't go OTT (or do, if thats your style lol).
By the 3min mark its got a bit repetitive, maybe introducing a new synth to complement the main one, or make it take over the main link. Either way, it definitely needs some kind of change up.
The breakdown at 3:30 could do with some ambiance on top of it - like more of that heavy reverb'd sound you got goin on in this section.
Overall tho, I'm feelin the vibe - just needs more variation and additives.

Here's something I've been working on this week and I feel is finished, its a bit more chilled and progressive. I'd appreciate some views - feedback will be returned. Cheers;

I have to agree about the over all structure, it gets boring after a while with that wobble... I have to disagree about EQing the wobble though, I think it sounds fine, IMO the track just needs restructuring to stop it getting repetitive... Wobbles are naturally fatiguing to the ear so when the track is 4 minutes of wobble with no major variation other than LFO speed change, it starts to be like 'damn man, break down already'...
