A Letter To: Nick Love

Post by djacroama » Fri Feb 05, 2010 9:11 am

Dear Nick Love,

I recently watched your remake of the iconic British film from the 80's: The Firm.

I watched it all the way through and I have to say i was surprised.

Although, personally, I didn't find the original that great, it did its job in entertaining me for the duration of the flick, which it it did very well.

Your version however, was more a film loosely based on the original and, apart from character names, football team names and the odd location, there was nothing of the original there.... oh, the clothes, sorry, i forogt them, thats where all the budget went wasnt it.

All the scenes that made the film from the original have been completely changed and are now mere specks of rubbish compared to how they looked and felt in the original. Some examples of these are:

The scene where the child puts the knife in his mouth: You missed out all the panic and shock from that scene.

and

The scene where becks goes to his parents house, goes up to his old bedroom and gets the suitcase full of weapons out: instead we are given a dark dingy room that doesnt have kids posters and football posters all over the room and we have no idea that he is even at his parents house.

I can however be grateful that you did include Danny "Fackin" Dyer in this film.

Your Sincerely,

DJ Acroama.

P.S.

please stop making films about football hooligans, its old and boring now.

I've tried to sit through a few of his films now, Football Factory (yeah, let's glorify football related violence, yeah) Outlaw, and The Business. I can safely say I don't need to watch anymore of his shite. Learn to tell a story perhaps?

All the 'chavs' from my school used to think they were from London and were these football hooligans after they watched The Football Factory or Green Street.

One kid in my class actually had a part of Football Factory on his phone and keep playing it over and over and was learning what they were saying :u:. Fucking idiots.

Yeah, never got the separation of the sexes with the schools in Chi. Strange place. Still least you didn't have to go to Manhood like I did for two years of my life. Gah, hated that place.

'dildo mate, the word is dildos, you two are a pair of dildos'
