who else is feeling the 'Autonomic' sound at the mo? They just released FabricLive 50 with Instra:metal, dBridge et al, that and the podcasts have got me really into making tunes again (and into dnb again

).
Wish I had a Bloc ticket cos they've got a stage there..

Anyone else vibesing on these fresh fresh vibesz?

I'm not really that familiar with it....

Seems kind Low tempo, DnB influenced, even more minimal half step...Sounds kinda good.

What's it all about then?

It's a funny one, same speed as dnb but with a lot more control, subtlety. It's very much synthesis based but with a generous nod to old film scores (carpenter etc) and general 80's scifi-ness.

When Jamie Vex'd released the LuckyMe walkman mix a while ago, he said he was inspired by the 'Eye World' scene in Bladerunner, this stuff is similar, it encompasses all the best sci-fi and anime sounds into a weird dnb framework without directly referncing or sampling it, it just has that 'feeling'.
Hard to explain, check out the podcasts tho, they are lush

Also it seems like it might attract less dickheads which is always a good thing, I used to love dnb but it's amazing how quickly you can go off music when the scene gets defined by twats

Nice one..I will do.

I listened to DBrisge & Instu:Mental on Rinse the other day with the Loefah set...(although it was playing in the background more than anything) and a lot of the tracks sounded nice, but I'll admit...I got a little bit bored. But, I'm sure with a bit more attention payed, I can jugde it better.

If Jamie Vex'd is involved....I know there's quality.

really feeling the autonomic stuff atm.. also stuff from the guys icicle, sabre, alix perez etc. and even noisia, Their collab with icicle is fucking sick (driftwood).

There are quite some fantastic tunes around (that Icicle tune that got posted a few posts back, Wonder Where & all that jazz) but a lot of it is very boring too.

Just my opinion.

True, I think the same can be said for anything that is a bit newer to your ears, the more you listen the more you can pick out and appreciate the subtleties and nuances.

I can't get enough of it...

Same, only Burial has captivated me like this before. They very rarely miss the mark, the podcasts are such an incredible collection of music and sounds.
I saw Instra:mental play a few months ago, his set was unbelievable but most people left the dancefloor, I can understand why, if you've followed dnb for a while it's probably hard to get into this stuff but I had a 6/7 year hiatus and this seems to me to be the perfect evolution of the genre.

I've not been such a fanboy about anything for a long time

what i have heard i didn't really like, sort of thing you'd see on a coffee table for an ikea advert, next to a copy of david gray's latest album and wallpaper magazine.
