They are actually not as prevalent in NY as you'd think. Really depends on the area, though. Like...uh, gentrified neighborhoods, such as Williamsburg and Greenpoint are filled with the kind of "indie"/hipster girls that people like elements are into.

I've seen a few that looked quite good, but the ones that look like they're consciously TRYING to dress "indie" or whatever the fuck else put me off.
