call me callous or a dick if you want but people around here seem to think only certain daws or plugs can create certain sounds which frankly is bullshit.
So where in his post did he imply ANY of that? Maybe you have another reason to be a bully to this guy that I don't know about, but attitudes like yours really contribute nothing but negativity to a place that's supposed to be a positive atmosphere to discuss music production. Maybe you just read the thread title and are venting, that's fine, but no need to attack the guy because you didn't read his post properly.
how was i being a bully? i was making a general statement not directed at anyone in particular.
now I'm just confused
also why is there no confused smiley
what's confusing?
i make this same statement at work to people all the time when they ask what daw is best and they should get. there is no right answer as they all essentially have the same features it just comes down to workflow. pro tools is no different to me.

it's confusing because you made it in a thread with only one post in it, and then elaborated on your point while referencing that post...so i'm confused why either you now say it was just a general statement directed at no one, or why you decided to use this thread in particular to say something like that, or how you didn't see how that would be construed as anything but a general statement.
I mean, I can make a thread with a clip of my tune in it, and you can come in and say "I hate unoriginal music" and mean it in a totally unrelated and general sense, but you'd have to realize that it surely would be taken as a reference to the only other post in that thread?

all DAWs do just about the same thing but in slightly different ways.
its all about what's comfortable for you and what you're used to. i used Live 8 for producing but record all my audio inside Pro Tools.

Is there anybody who doesn't? *confused smiley*
I'm sure if I went into his "remix my tune" thread and said something like "I hate it when no-talent clowns try to ride off of the remix work of a better artist," and then elaborated using the tune in the thread as an example, he wouldn't quite believe me if I said it was just a general statement and not directed at anybody in particular. Not that I would do anything horrible like that, I've got nothing against the guy...but I think it's easy to see why this was really confusing

last time i posted in a pro tools bashing thread, i ended up having to tune battle the guy...
that said, i love pro tools. I find that my workflow(moving around, creating tracks, editing) is quicker than most of the people I meet who use cubase. I'm not saying pro tools is better, just that its all about knowing your software. If you're not using hot keys, short cuts and the smart tool in pro tools you're not using it right. Also Pro Tools 8 had alot of updates in the midi production area, I don't know what version you're using. Also i find when i work in cubase with people I can do all the same things in pro tools, its just different presentation.
I will say tho, real time rending in pro tools can be frustrating at times.

You are just expecting everyone on here to have clearly written thoughts that would make your grammar teacher proud. It just doesn't happen on here. Deadly is inebriated when he posts on here 90% of the time. I don't even understand what he is talking about half the time. You need to just let things go or the threads in here are going to go on wild tangents.
I wonder if half the people talking shit on protools in here even used the program for more than 5 minutes? I haven't used protools since it was basically new in 92/93, seemed pretty fucking cool back then lol. From what I have read the biggest problem with it is that some of the things have been in place since it was new, you know, 20 fucking years and if they try to improve something they will have these engineers that have been using it forever ready to riot so stuff just stays the way it is. If you ask me Logic and Cubase have the same issues, sometimes they just don't want to upset the apple cart with a new version.

i'd say 75% of the time. the other 25% of the time i'm posting from work (like me and audiowright are now) or just got home from a long shift and bout to crash. the other 75% yea i'm generally inebriated in some way shape or form

never used it and have no interest whatsoever in using it. and I doubt very seriously I ever will.
that's my entire contribution to this thread I'm afraid.

Not at all man, and I don't see where I implied anything of the sort. I'm expecting people not to take unprovoked digs at each other just to feel better about themselves, but I guess I'm expecting too much. You guys can continue to be dicks to each other, I guess I'll just have to be a dick back if it ends up directed at me at some point.

The point is, is the man was not trying to be a dick or offend anyone and as I said people don't always express themselves properly on here. You can't take every post for face value, that is my point. You are going to be a very busy person pointing out every little misworded post on here but if that is what you want to do, be my guest.
