Razor Rekta is a cutting edge DJ who originates from the suburbs of West London. He had started his musical journey in 1996, working with promoters at the tender age of 15. At the time, playing out with MC's such as Creed, PSG, Secret Agent, Kie and others, this was aided by his show on Mac FM (92.7FM) and playing at various Ice/Mac events (exposure etc). This was followed up with the landing of his first prime-time radio show on Delight 103.0FM with Livin' Legends in 1999 and started working for Razor Records in South London. It was here he had worked with various acts such as So Solid, Milkymans and Get Rich which eventually blossomed his passion for UK Underground into a full time hobby. This was a regular show for 4 years before moving to Freeze 92.7FM in 03/04, where he had been the figurehead DJ for the infamous grime collective Dynasty and the likes of artists such as Sharkey P, MC Hyperactive, Purple....and not to mention his DJ/Production team Anti Social...which has been home since the days of 10freeee. Razor Rekta parted ways with Freeze 92.7FM in 2006 and is now a resident on London's Rinse FM with Anti Social specializing in Experimental and Future Dubstep. Since 1998, he has been fortunate enough to have guested on many other radio stations which include BBC Radio 1xtra, BBC Asian Network, Taste FM, Ice FM, Mac FM, Supreme FM, Upfront FM, Flashback FM, Radio Frequency FM, Heat FM, Raw Mission FM, React FM, Lush FM, Ice Cold FM, Platinum FM, Major FM.com, Hektik.TV, all of which were used as a foundation to push what what known as Underground UK garage at the time before evolving in what we now know as UK Dubstep. Having been a DJ in the UK garage industry for approximately 10 years, he is solely concentrating on the dubstep/breakstep scene to push the level of DJ's up a notch in addition to breaking the sound through further boundaries. A figurehead in pushing Anti Social and UK Underground as a whole. Anti Social UK are highly sought-after and are themselves getting some big playouts in and around London - they love music and are influenced from Grime to Soca, Jazz to Blues, Indie to Drum and Bass, Hip-Hop to Rock. To list the influences Anti Social have it would take a second Myspace site to encompass it all. We love the U.K. and recognise that this is our home however we would like to work with talented people overseas 'The World is Our Stage'.
We also have another special guest DJ for the evening! Anybody who was at the 1 Year Steppin Up anniversary party would remember how this girl absolutely TORE the place apart! And if you live in Montreal you know this girl rocks the party week in and week out at the Bass Drive jams! Coming from Montreal we are also proud to present.....
VILIFY (Montreal, QC)
BassDrive // B.B.E. // West-End Productions // The Halifield Movement
Fierce and dynamic on the decks, Jenny Carmichael a.k.a. VILIFY has the ammunition to throw down the most energizing and corrupt sounds on your dance floor. Appearing alongside the likes of Dieselboy [US], Starkey [US], Gridlock [US] and Capital J [CAN], making finalist at the 2007 DJ Olympics, and multiple appearances at the Atlantic Summer Festival ‘Evolve’; Vilify has proven that she can keep up with the big boys of bass. Her weekly Wednesday at Montreal’s KOI Bar pushes the hardest and darkest DNB, dubstep, street bass, breakcore and everything else dark and heavy, along with 2 radio shows; Mondays on jungletrain.net & Fridays on SUB.FM. Watch out for this pretty little thing, her dirty beats will destroy your soles.
