yeah you can load samples as well in Alchemy. crazy results. I wouldn't say it's sample based but it's got sampling capabilities.

Pretty cool. Linplugs CronoX is kinda like that. I don't see why we have to separate waveform synths with sample based synths anyways. I think the days of making a "new" VA synth are dead. I wanna see hybrid synths take the spot light. Sample based/Phase Modded/FM/AM/Waveshaping/Modelling/subtractive/additive/mulpcative. Gimme it all!

Try Unique from Sugar Bytes.
The vowel filter gives you funky french sounds.

Seems like this is the kind of thing that Reaktor would be great for. As a matter of fact, I think there are already synths like this that people have built for it.

I don't mind what kind of synth it is as long as it does the job, so yeah bring on the hybrids. All I want is a synth where I'm not limited to a set amount of waveforms that's why I love sytrus there's just so much stuff to tweak.

I remember futzing w/ Reaktor wayyy wayyy long ago, and the only thing that turned me off was the fact it was from NI. The only thing.
All in all Alchemy's got a nice concept going with itself for being the Swiss army knife of Synths. Well, Reaktor does too, but c'mon, its NI!
Hopefully more devs will see a trend as they try to continuously outdo each other, and stop giving me another 1970 remake of an obscure Russian synth that doesn't sound anything like the original, but only .0000000000000000000005% of the population of New Zeland knows it.

agreed, obscure emulations tend to suck.

I've seen loads of wavetable synths with thiings like '64 built in waveforms' does that mean you can add more/make your own? or is it just saying only 64 waveforms built in?
