pitched up voices

Post by phrex » Thu Feb 11, 2010 11:22 pm

make me feel melancholic. and i have no fucking idea why!!
but i like it.

just thinking of eg. lung - afterlife, burial-unite.....

these voices make me feel positively moody.. dunno how to explain. but i love it.

okay gotta admit... i loved (!!) the intro of scooters ramp, back in the days! (bout 9 yars ago?). so not really a dubstep related thing i guess...

rubbish track.. but i used to rewind the intro on the CD over and over again

yeah mate I know exactly what you are talking about, pretty much anything where there is some kind of pitched up voice or uninterpretable but defiantly human sounding sample used. This can be any cheesy pitched up sample or something more burial-esque, albums like Play by Moby really have a similar effect, as well as as couple of RJD2 tracks. Its very strange and i dont know why messing around with vox samples has such a large effect on me.
This is exactly what I talking about (YES I KNOW ITS KANYE WEST BUT IT'S THE FIRST THING THAT CAME TO MY MIND AND SHOWS EXACTLY WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0MmLcvyjkE

Oh, hell yeah, motherfucker. I'm all about them ghostly incomprehensible vocals. In fact, that's one of the fundamentals of my very own soft ass homophobe. garage "medatative" bullshit.
