I'm having real trouble with the sub - it is there!! I'm trying to get it like the sub from 'When I Look At You - Emalkay' - the sub on that is HUGE! But I can't seem to nail it - more high-passing and eqing needed methinks

Cheers man, appreciate it :D
Haha was a joke dude :D . Aye ive got albino ill give it a go. What are you using for sub? I usually copy the project and call it 'trackname' - sub bass. Then change the automated wobble to a sine wave within the new project, -2 octaves and then add another at -1 octave. Bit of tweaking to get them to sit right together and you're away. You will have to use the same VST to use you're original automation on the sub so dont replace or change the patch unless you know it will still work with you're generator. I can tell you it DOES work with massive. Import wav to your original project and layer with your mid/top end synth. For an extra fat bass i sometimes distort and or compress the above method and then filter out the new frequencies using high and lowpass, and repeat if necessary. Be careful what distortion you use for this as some just chew it up.

These are only the methods i use, i am by no means saying this is correct and if anyone thinks/knows otherwise please say so as it will help me too :D

this one's done today. not yet finished. no eqs and anything.
would just love to know what you think of it, somethings missing? not sure about 0:53. it's a wobble that is repeated, but this time with slight distortion. somehow it sounds... don't like it but still... would love to know what you think of it.

the choir samples are syrian folk from alep

also when this choir drops at 1:46 i'm very unsure about it... does the change sound too chopped?

hey buddy, wow! this is gonna be an awesome tune. i really like the feel your going for. within the first 50 secs. i would def clean up the drums just a little.. the timing is still there, but i think it loses its essence. in the beat, the bass drum hits twice. i think it should only go once, its weird with two. and at 1:08. thats sick bro. i love the bass line and the sample. but i would def let that amen go alittle longer than just dropping back out. or actually veen having that at the end and letting it ride out for like a min or two. in the end and simple beat oing into that amen at the end would be f-ing sweet. work on your structure! big up! check out mines.

Yeahh i know :D. And yeah I do exactly what you do for sub there!! I just can't get it to sit right. I think I'll sit down and do a 'listen to emalkay', 'listen to my track and tweak', back and forth til it get's right. I don't know how he gets his to sound so clear, yet so deep! At the moment, I distorted it, and took all the highs and mids off, and boosted at about 40hz, but it doesn't sound right, so tweaking time tomorrow!! Cheers :).

Oooh, btw - LFO to main amplitude or to both filter cutoffs! Forgot that, but hey, this is the dubstep forum, you know how to make wobbles already!!

hey man! what a killer intro. i would def take out those claps. maybe throw em in ery now n then. and to be honest, i thought this was gonna be a banger when leading up to the drop, but it just sounded like some weird techno. keep the intro. figure out the rest!

big up.

hey chris... it sounds good when the first beat drops in, at 0:27. has something quite melancholic... don't think that voice 0:40 really fits in. at least for my ear/taste. also 1:02 the vocals just dont sit right somehow.

i would do a break with the bass, after the drop. 40 seconds is for my opinion too long. the whole rythm looses energy.
more variation with the bass! and for my taste less ''dirty''. btu.. it's my taste, so just ignore this :)

anyway, keep the good work up.
