Hexade - Introducing myself

Post by hexade » Mon Feb 22, 2010 5:51 pm

Hey guys! Just introducing myself here, completely new here to the dubstep scene :)

I'm a 16 year old from a crappy small village called Elstead, in Surrey, UK. I've always loved dubstep, but only recently i started having a go at making it. I've had FL Studio 8 for a while, but never really got to grips with it or understood it enough, but recently I've started understanding it quite a bit more, and have been churning out a few tunes, which I'M pleased with, but i need more help and tips to improve.

Soundcloud This is probably my best song! Check it out :)

Theres my youtube channel. Please check out my songs, i have about 8 or 9 that ive made recently. 'Shadows' is probably one of my best, and also 'Get the F*** Out' But please do check them all out.

My songs could be better, and at the moment i'm a bit quantity over quality, with me spending about half an hour on each song. I DO need help though, and my confidence would be greatly boosted if i got some feedback - good or bad (if atleast its constructive)

So thanks everyone! Hope you do check it out so i can have a chance to improve, and hope you'll maybe even see me again when im a bit more settled down!

Harry,
It seems the tips me and Nick gave you are starting to pay off but let me give you some more mate

firstly, we taught you the filth, but you need more of the flavour. more ambience like in the song "Shadows" (which, i agree, is your best so far) would probably be great, since it creates a gloomy atmosphere behind the mental filth of the raw track itself.

secondly, install those damn samples i gave you lmfao

thirdly, and most importantly, its usually best to finish songs before you up them. i know you want people to get a taste of what is to come in future but even if you are eager to upload a clip of it, it is best to develop that part of the song some more before uploading (which is what i do)

Not bad overall though bro

now, i suggest you keep this post as a future reference of what needs to be added to make it better =]
