Macka is a relatively fresh face on the hyper-saturated Dubstep scene, but has already begun to make waves; both as a member of the Mothers Against Noise collective and a DJ and Producer in his own right. His unique spin on the genre features found sounds, helium vocals and enormous basslines, referencing Joker's Purple Wow sound and the jump-up productions of Skream et al whilst remaining definitively his own.
This, his first release on the Twenty/Twelve Netlabel (nominated for 'Best New Label' in this year's Dubstepforum awards), features two Macka stalwarts. First up is 'My Revolution', a heavy-footed 2-step anthem with impossibly agile vocals and hints of a Garage shuffle. On the digi-flipside is 'Whoopah', a brooding explosion of massive snares and even bigger bass. Dancefloors beware!
Mothers Against Noise is a London-based collective of Producers, DJs and Graphic Designers peddling a distinctive brew of Dubstep, Jungle and Breakcore. Our chief aim is to put dark atmospheres and a bass’n’breaks mentality back where they belong; the London club scene.
