At the Drive in

Post by DRTY » Thu Feb 25, 2010 11:53 am

The SOAD thread has got me listening to all the bands I used to love (some still do.....), but is anyone else a fan of ATDI?

Fucking brilliant band in my opinion. Relationship of command is SUCH a good album. Pretty rare for a band to end on their finest creation also.

ICO is my favourite, but it was the first one I heard too, so that might be a bit of a factor. Got introduced to them by an ex girlfriend who'd heard about them, bought the album and only semi liked it... it ended up living in my car and slowly being joined by the rest of their stuff!

When I first started jamming with friends in London, I found out that the one I had most in common with also really liked Bob Dylan, Squarepusher and ATDI - we're pretty much best friends now... we're still convinced we'll make something worthwhile one of these days!

Fair do's...... I'm half & half with squarepusher. I LOVE alot of his stuff, but some of it is so MEH. I was really disappointed with his latest album.

I quite liked it, but I agree about him being hit or miss... when he hits he makes me go all fuzzy! Journey To Reedham... :U:

Haha similar, formed a band back in the day with people I'd met through a mutual love of ATDI. Tried to fuse a bit of glassjaw into the mix as well.

er this was the result...

Yes, great band, and I don't feel guilty listening to them because they aren't white devils.

one of my favourite bands growing up! still rock some of their stuff occasionally but know every inch of their songs so gets a bit tiresome! ahah! i really liked volta when they started but their last couple of albums have not been so great :( bit too much wankery and not enough chorus ahahah
