Intro is decent. Drop is ok. Doesn't hit very hard. It's good for your first try, that's for sure. I like the chord changes. The synths sound kinda generic. Maybe try to make some more interesting sounding ones. The production overall is good. Around 3:30 it's gets a bit repetitive.

Overall good job! :D

Thank you sir! :D

Tho could you have any tips for me to get that drop hit harder? And Ive been thinking the samething aobut the repetitiveness, but really couldnt think of anything, tho i might make some changes before final release :)

hey, though you might want to know i've used your track in a minimix which can be found here:
http://www.dubstepforum.com/little-mini ... 30909.html
It's not downloadable and you don't hear the full track, but i'm happy to take it down if you have any objection to it being up there.

tried to pm, but not working so posted here.

@muta- Pretty much everything deranger said. It's very good for a first attempt, but nothing sounds particularly original and it does get repetetive. Experiment with making your own synths, combining effects differently to how people have, mind altering subtances whatever. Just try new shit until something nobody's heard appears, cause your production skills are great for someone of your experience.

Hard to follow Hookey's excellent track there, but figure I should just drop what I've got. Have been watching this forum for a while and just joined so hello everyone. :t: Soundcloud
Did this in Logic with Massive.

Nice intro, style reminded me a lot of this:
http://soundcloud.com/deep-focus/the-xx ... ocus-remix
in a good way.

Ithink you might have gone a tiny bit overboard on the drop, and that leaving a tiny bit more of the original feel in there would have been nice, but it was interesting and caught me by surpise. have a listen to that link for inspiration anyway :).

mine's in sig, really desperate for help with this cause it's nearly there but not quite.

@ Subographer, welcome to the forum. I'm sorry for how this is going to sound but, while there was nothing actually that "wrong" with your track, its one dubstep beat, and teh LFO wobbles from massive. Everyone who listens to dubstep has heard that done so many millions of time that you have to have bach-like musical skill to make your track stand out from the massive (pun intended) pile of others exactly like it.

In terms of feedback for that song, the hihats could do with being taken down in pitch, and up in volume, the drums need to switch up quite a lot, and the wobble needs a tiny bit more interaction with said changing drums.

But more generally, you obviously have the basics down, now go play with that rediculously powerful synth you've (hopefully) bought, and (though i hate to admit it as i have a PC) probably the best DAW on the market, and try to create something that hasn't been heard by everyone already.

Thank you so much, there's not a lot of this music happening where I'm from so it's hard to get a critique and I think you're spot on. I'm really trying to get the mix down correctly and was more concerned with the bass volume, or if it's too muddy or if the instrumentation is not clear enough.

But this "best DAW on the market"? Really? I actually called Apple wanting to return Logic because I saw a couple vids of people mixing in Abelton and it seemed much more logical (no pun intended) and much quicker than Logic, not to mention its easier automation editing. Should I just stick with Logic and trudge through it? Or is Abelton much better suited to running software synths?

Yes I bought Massive.

I haven't used logic, but the list of professional who do is insanely big, from what i've heard it's slightly less beginner friendly that some others though, so bear with it. There's an insane number of tutorials available. If you look for the computer music "producer masterclass" series for artists you like, you're bound to fnd some, and they're beginner level, so you should be able to see logic's workflow fairly easily.

In the words of Deep Focus (imo best liquid producer of last year)
"if logic were a woman, she would fucking get it"

Re edit of my remix of Silence by Delerium.

I've tried to sync the vocals, bought the sub up, lessened the reverb, changed the melody and done what I could before Ableton decided to start crashing all the time.

@Grooki: I really love the minimal style on this track. Really cool sounds. It sounds big and small at the same time which is a difficult thing to get across in a mix. Its nice hearing something other than standard drums and wobz that I hear a lot in this thread

Heres mine:
