LOL

I beg he remixes Cher - Do U Believe In Life After Love next.

The most disturbing thing about looking him up on youtube is in related videos there's a lady gaga video with 136 MILLION views.

I'm gonna start deliberately letting off greenhouse gases into the sky.

Why is that disturbing? She's extremely talented compared to many other pop "divas".

On topic, Mt Eden is fucking rubbish and so is this remix. But it's because he did a crap job and destroyed an amazing tune, not because WAAAH WAAAH HOW DARE HE REMIX BURIAL. Don't be silly. Both Phaseone's and Boy 8-Bit's remixes of Archangel are decent.

I have to admit I do enjoy listening to MTEden, it's not a crime and he's an independant artist - so the math indicates that he must be pretty good to get himself noticed without thousand of pounds on promotion etc...
However, I get what you're saying about his remix's. I'm yet to hear an original track of his - which he hasn't adapted in anyway...almost everything on his channel is a remix or he's tampered with an already successful song/formula. I think alot of producers could do this in theory, but they just don't. Of course, generally he does it well and sometimes improves on an already good song, but hey - he's still unoriginal.
With that in mind I think he's quite restricted...He's been around nearly 4 years now and I don't think he's released a single song. This may be due to the fact he's not allowed to as the majority of his songs are covers, or even if he did he'd owe some record exec a hefty percent. It will be very interesting what he does in the next few years.
Overall though, I don't mind him...if he made his songs all by himself then fair enough, he makes nice songs, but he doesn't which is off putting.

This is exactly what i mean! stupid fuckheads who know shit all about dubstep influencing the minds of their tool friends and everyone around them, thus increasing the amount of people misguded of what the genre really is, and whos great. Although i spose they just download it off youtube and play it in their shitty little parties or whatever, it shouldn't really affect us to be honest, because they wont know who skream is and thus wont come to his shows.

i've only been in to dubstep for 3 years or so and already producers like this getting 'big' on the internet and influencing the taste of millions of morons makes me feel like i'm either out of touch with music or the mainstream end has changed beyond all recognition into something pretty depressing. ah well, i guess the good dudes will keep doing what they do and the shitty dudes will keep doing what they do.

Fuck you guys are such haters. Mt Eden. is a dude who is a full time builder, who works all day and tweaks out tunes all night. Hes getting global bookings but he refuses to leave his job. Hes the worst Dj ever and he knows it just as well as the next guy. what you guys are hating on wasnt his intention, its the by product of having the same musical preference as what appears to be more people than you. Its not his fault that his tunes went massive and a whole bunch of idiots got on board. Case in point, Noisias production way outstripped their performances for years, and once they started playing out and relating to a club based audience more, as opposed to online hype, their tunes became more refined.

My advice, dont listen to Mt Eden dubstep, but keep an eye out in the future cos they obviously have got something fresh. for NZ to make waves this big is a rather large deal.

i think your missing the point though. production is alot more important to dubstep than live performances are.

Its pure gold your only post in a year is to slag off mt eden

I can see people listening to it and liking it cuz its new to them but when they listen to other dubstep and still like Mt Eden better, then something is terribly wrong

It's easy for you guys to blame Mteden himself for his popularity but the fact is you just can't, it isn't his fault his remixes have caused the popularity that they have, and it certainly isn't his fault the silly things his clueless fans sometimes say, so why blame him? Blame the fans if you want to. As the guy above has said, he has just done his thing over the years, made his remixes at home after getting home from building, and he has watched his popularity explode. He had no power over it.

You're allowed not to like his music, but you better just accept that A LOT of people do.

You lot are just sounding like bitter old farts tugging your cocks over burial and it's a bit pathetic.

(Thats not to say burial isn't a king though of course)
