Akufen Appreciation....

Post by mondays child » Fri Mar 05, 2010 11:53 pm

Only stumbled across this dude recently. I'm glad I did. He even manages to make the terminally dull Craig David sound cool....

Had an LP out in 2002 called 'My Way' which is also rather spiffing.

Any takers for this sound then? :t:

Absolutely mate. Brilliant use of sampling and arrangements. Similar to the way I work, though obviously he's a lot better at it than I am.
Really nice sound. Big up Akufen :D

Too true, I am totally into this guys sound atm. It's a bit like a mutation of Todd Edwards (another hero imo) and a more minimalist Daft Punk in 'house' mode.

Loving it!

Ah, the joys of discovering new music you never knew about.

Akufen - My way <-- probably one of the best albums of all time. Been a long time supporter Akufen and his various monikers. His new live pa is single handily the best live electronic experience I have ever had the pleausre of witnessing. I caught its premiere at Mutek.

Akufen is pretty much a god.

Akufen's a genius pretty much.
My Way is the classic but the album he released under his own name (Marc LeClair 'Pour 3 Femme Encientes') is probably my favourite electronic album of all time.
Well worth checking out the one off tracks too - 'Train To Barcelona' especially is f'ing incredible

One of my favourite microhouse artists as well as Luomo. Doesn't release music often enough though. That Craig David remix is hilarious :D

Yeah man, dunno why though. Damn good music in my book.

maybe just needs blending and updating the sound a little?
