Found this out recently but at anytime if you hold control and then scroll up on the mousewheel it zooms in on the screen.

This is not software specific but built into the osx so you can zoom in on pixels on your desktop.

very cool function.
It's Command not Control.
:? It's definitely control.
yup i think your thinking of control

Errrr no.
I press and hold this key ⌘ (which is Command) and then I scroll and it zooms.
Most probably my system preferences are different to everyone else.

Oh, how could I forget these ones? Use them 30 times a day:

[COMMAND] + [Click] is to open a link in a new tab,
[COMMAND] + [SHIFT] + [Click] is to open a link in a new tab, then go to that tab, extremely handy

Moving between your tabs can be done by [COMMAND] + [SHIFT] + "[" to move one tab to the left and [COMMAND] + [SHIFT] + "]" to move one tab to the right.

Another one (and I haven't decided how useful it is, but anyways):

When playing a song in itunes, move your mouse cursor over the timeline and scroll up and down as you would on a mouse (2 finger drag for laptops) and the song will scrub back and forth.

I really am just finding these all out today:

While in itunes, CMD + [Up or Down arrow keys] moves itunes' volume up and down,
CMD + SHIFT + [Up or Down arrow keys] mutes itunes!

Two more, one found out while typing this:

- If you're at a webpage and want to go back one page, but you don't want to leave the one you're on, you can hold COMMAND + Click the back button, and that'll open up the previous page in a new tab, OR if you're on a laptop you can hold COMMAND and swipe three fingers to the left and it'll still open up the previous page in a new tab!

- If you're typing, hold COMMAND + Delete (which is really Backspace), and it'll erase the whole line you're typing, press those two keys again and it'll erase the new line, putting you back to the end of the previous sentence

In itunes, if you start playing a song, then go digging around in some other playlist, COMMAND + L will take you back to the playlist which the current song is playing from!

I can't believe how many of these damn things there are...

Sick!! I just used this to download the new Tron:Legacy trailer in 1920x800!

Don't forget the classics -

⌘+TAB - Cycle through open apps
⌘+M - Minimize active window into Dock (not all apps)
⌘+W - Close window
⌘+Q - Quit app

If you have an iBook or MacBook with a remote, the top corners of the screen frame are magnetized so you can stick it there and not lose it...

⌘+` (also the tide button next to the left shift) = Switch windows of a selected application. Very handy in logic for swapping the arrange to mixer and back

This isn't a shortcut, but I found an awesome app for making custom desktops:

Awesome.
