Should DMZ be ticketed?

Post by dirt » Sun Mar 07, 2010 7:51 pm

Would it cut down on entry time? Make it less packed? Better crowd? Or... More hassle? Less authentic to its roots? Turn it into something different?

Have your say either way.

You would not have touting with a system where you prebook your tickets on a paid "guest list" and then you quote a reference code with your name. You pay in advance and you quote your name supported with ID and reference to get in

The only reason this issue has arisen is cause of the the queue on the bdays, other than that there isnt a problem, any other dmz you turn up at 12 and you waltz in no problem. Half the people that go to the bdays are there cause dubstep is cool. Where are they on the rest of the time.

Tickets are pointless for dmz.

yeah but then you have to bring ID and a ref number and its hassel

this way you just turn up early with cash
also normal DMZ there is never a q. so the no ticket thing is no bother

yeah fair enough but when there is a q maybe offer the chance of getting a ticket?

Plus all the spots dont have to be tickets. You can presale like 30 or 40% of the tickets. From the promoters point of view it also helps with cash flow.
Even if you just make the DMZ birthday parties a semi ticketed affair I think thats fair enough.

Im easy either way, there are benefits both ways and I dont think DMZ would lose anything from being ticketed or semi ticketed from time to time. Its not like the tunes will be any less heavy.

Not necessarily true, people come from far and wide places for the birthdays

^^^This; people fly from abroad to come!

Is there an official reason its never been a ticketed event? Its just to get to the door expecting to pay £10 then having to pay £17 is a bit unfair really...

either way, i must see the DMZ someday. living in the US doesn't help much, so I'll have to come to it! does the pricing always fluctuate? 10 pound then pay 17 pound at the door? that is screwed up man!

the queue is a BIG part of the experience, and it should never be ticketed! the reason people click into the family vibes is from all the people that come to the birthdays from far away for the same reason. vibes vibes vibes and friends! how nice is it when over 1400 people can agree on bassweight once a year?
