Which program for producing

Post by DMNSHN » Wed Mar 10, 2010 11:03 am

Okay so I've got FL studio 9 with some plugins (itchy, massive etc.) and I have Reason 3, installed it yesterday

Now I already know quite alot about FL studio since im using it for a while now. But my question is, shall I keep producing in FL studio. Or start all over again in Reason, I dont get much about it yet.

Switching daws wont change your sound, reasons less audio process / more synthrack emulator... but its just 2 names skinnin the same cat. Chances are if your comfortable where you are, a change is only going to set you back further...

FACT: All DAWs do the same thing
FACT 2: Propellerhead wont call Reason a DAW

Get FL perfected n rewire that shit in down the line, but... no need too switch, just master one...

best thing to do is to keep on doing what you'z doin...download as many warez as you possibly can and try to use all of them....but fuck daws. they all suck, just use windows recorder or w/e it's called. you can open multiple instances and i think there's a hack to interface it with a midi piano roll. run all ur plugins as standalones and you're gna rock any other setup out there. trust me. ur pc gonna be light on cpu load too. pce.
i live for it so dont hate on me sucka

Settle for the environment you seem to like. FL, Reason, Reaper, Logic, Cubase are all capable of aiding you making sick music, not more not less. I've been playing around with Reason, saw Reaper, liked its looks and went for it. The big plus is I don't need warez, the evaluation version works just fine and if I ever have too much money, I'll buy it!

it's the end results that matter. just use whatever you're most comfortable with and work the quickest in.

Stick to fl mate

The "easy" bit is learning the basics, but you won't ever learn that switching daws, you've got to get over that first hill/bump/boundary/threshold, then you start to actually understand what you are doing and have a slight control over what you are doing.

From here its only experience that will make you better

you want to be in that place as quickly as possible, so you can improve your musicality, your production quality, your ability to get ideas down..... and you aren't gonna do that switching DAWs every 5 seconds

plus reason sucks :-p renoise ftw
