been ever feeling and crossovering the dubstep and the 140 breaks, feels so right to me. Its being done by many and the results are great!! Feeling that Cut La Roc remix much!! Switches very well between the grooves. Its about the vibe and not the drum patterns and I love that

Loving alot of the breaks in dubstep tunes recently. Gives a fresh feel to it.

Sweet Shop refix is a good example.

It's great to see breaks and dubstep crossing over, most of High Rankins breaks tunes fit nicely into dubstep sets, Sub Slayers as a label crosses the two vibes very effectivly imo.

Most of our dubstep tracks have breaks in them, I find with dubstep it allows more space to use proper breaks within the frame work of the groove.

It's all bass music at the end of the day and it's great to see it all meshing together.

Jinx & Mark - nice to see you on here more these days.

Totally dig these sounds. I was actually thinking about a set starting with dubsteps and switching to breaks but then I always have to play the breaks tracks high pitched.
Funny cause I didn't really think about going back and forth between the two. Good idea though

The breaks/dubstep/breakstep sound has always been a favourite of mine...to be honest for me the breakbeat garage proto-dubstep sound should have been much larger but in 2006 the halfstep sound did seem to take over and the breakier side of things took a backseat. It is a shame as there has been so much great breakier music which has been overlooked in the last 4 years whilst the halfstep, wobble, chainsaw, techno have dominated... Labels like Urban Graffiti have been pushing this sound since the beginning but it has alway felt under the underground!

Glad more people are getting into the breakstep sound and always good to have producers working in this. Maybe it's time has come....for me it is perfect, it has the energy that can lack in halfstep (although i like halfstep) and it doesn't have to rely on a wobble or a midrange bass to give it movement. It has always suprised me that this sound...(the direct decendant of Darqwan/138 trek etc...) never exploded in the same way as halfstep but heres hoping good things come to those who wait ;)

Will check the track at the start of this thread and any producers making this sound then PM me your tracks for my SUB FM show.

That's it right there, the energy you can generate from switching double time and the impact you can add to the bass from going half time is the point of what where doing in schema..

Trust me felllas J tek is ideal for this type of switch letting the DJ take his sets off on tangents, from dubstep to breaks to Dnb to reggae ect
Look into it , the style of tracks differ so much there's sommat for everyone.
I'm acctually runnin a comp at the moment trying to get producers of different styles to make a track reflecting their musical taste
If any of you are interested check my other posts on here

Always loved the breakbeat and dubstep crossover thing.
i remember tunes like said the spider by oris jay and the early collaborations between j da flex and yoof from sunz of mecha on the south west recordings imprint back in 1999-2000. nuff swinging beats bizzness.

more breaks to be made at 140bpm please
